The one thing I'd love to have in iOS 5 is the Apple TV software / Frontrow available on the iPad: Being able to use the iPad as an Apple TV with a built-in screen would be a real killer feature IMO. And before people start suggesting Air Video or similar from the App Store, they don't support DRM protected files and as 80% of my videos are from the iTunes store, are useless for me

I don't think they'll do the Apple TV interface. However, I do think home sharing will be coming with iOS 5 and that will fix your problem (your iTunes "shares" will show up within the iPod.app and Video.app allowing you to stream content from PC/Mac to your iOS device.).

5) Swiping to the right?

Thank you.

Flash Player - and the option to turn it off if you like for the extreme flash haters. it should come default with it turned off so to not anger that whiny bunch

And then developers will continue to use Flash. Send a simple note to the webmaster telling them you won't be visiting their site because flash is required, and then stop going. Don't fire up the laptop or desktop to visit them.

Will the combination of Handbrake and VLC remove the DRM from iTunes purchases ? I ONLY purchase physical media, and then rip to disk.

The iPad really does need at least 512MB, preferably 1GB of RAM.
The fact that it performs admirably on a paltry 256MB, speaks volumes for the efficiency of the OS, frankly.
I'd like to see any other OS run smoothly on 256! :D

CAPACITY CAPACITY CAPACITY.

I want a 128 GB iPad. Or at least an SD slot that can be used to store media. Yes, I like to actually watch and listen to MEDIA on my multi-media device!

If it performs so well with 256mb, why would it need more than double than that? Makes no sense. All you people that think it needs 1gb forget this is a mobile OS and not osx. Get real

Flash support,a device design for web surfing is pretty much an aluminum body paperweight without it. I can't believe that some people are stupid enough to fall for Apple's "we love open standards" BS.

Question: Name 5 separate reasons that you would want to use flash on the iPad.

For me:
1. Hulu (Although they will most likely block all other tablets)
2. the other random video that doesn't happen to have an HTML5 player (Which are reducing every day)
3. ???

I guess you could put crappy flash games designed to be controlled with a mouse and keyboard on the list.

I am asking because I seriously would like to know what everyone uses flash for, other than a reason to bash Apple.

Um...I want to be able to access my school and work related websites that use flash? These websites will never stop using flash regardless of what SJ wants you to believe and I know this sounds crazy but some people would like to have the ability to browse the entire web.

It's not really a deal breaker for me. I don't run into much flash on my iPhone. Then again the phone is a bit too small for porn :p. I smell you though. I really don't see what the big deal is. Just put flash on the thing already. But if it forces html5 to the forefront I am not complaining flash does kinda suck.

I desperately need the rear-facing safety camera so I can walk around staring at the screen without tripping. These things are expensive and troublesome to replace.

+1
I really want the next one to have a front facing camera, which it should, and if it doesnt, then it is just stupid. I would also like a slightly bigger screen, which i know aint going to happen. Still, it would be nice.

The ability to browse the web at least as quickly and smoothly as I can on my PC or MacBook Pro would be the only thing that would make an upgrade worth it to me. As it stands, it's far too sluggish feeling to browse on it unless I know exactly where I'm going and exactly what I want to read there.

The display could be crisper as well. The feasability of this has been discussed to death but that aside, given that it's use cases are more aligned to reading than a phone it is silly that it is outclassed by one in visual clarity.

I guess that is the case for some people, my school used silverlight for their distance-ed platform but I don't think a bunch of people are going to be complaining about that.

I'm not against them adding flash, but just having a way to turn it off. Or maybe they can just allow other web browser rendering engines and a Firefox or chrome app could include a built-in flash plugin.

Still for the majority of people in the world their only use of Flash is for Farmville and Hulu. And both of those have an app now.

No there are thousands of flash websites that I couldn't access just because Apple wants me to buy content from the app store instead. I got rid of my iPad and I will never purchase another IOS product until I'm allowed to access flash content.

Be able to connect the tablet to any computer you are near to, PC or MAC which means USB.
And be able to transfer files to and from the device, between the iPad and the Computer in question

This of course will never be allowed to happen :(

Never really thought about it, but you certainly do have a point there with file sharing
