sparc processors

is it even worth it to talk about the possibility of Macs using sun sparc processors? are they pretty good? or is this talk even moot at this point?

While one could make a case that Sun and Apple would benefit from a strategic partnership using the same CPU family. At least one of them would have to undergo major software re-development as well as that of their respective software developer community.

My fantasy, so to say, is that Sun, SGI, and Apple adopt a super-duper new IBM Power4/5 CPU family to enjoy an economy of scales advantage. Unfortunately, that seems most unlikely.
