How about instead of adding more functionality you make what you do have, functional Apple?
There was interview not long time ago where some executive explained how difficult is to add anything new to Siri thanks to its structure. And it take ages. Hope they will catch up train with new AI direction coming now.
Regarding this article I tried ask Siri to make Selfie, just curious. It just launched Camera with back camera on. Lol So sleep well Siri again.

I have experienced many times that Siri can’t even make a call. It understands what I say but keep on saying “working on it “ and nothing happens. Or it tries to call and just drop it. If I do it myself, call goes. I normally request when I drive.

I want Siri to;

1) Understand the language and accent I speak automatically.

2) Give an answer without saying “here’s what I found on the internet “

3) have a continuous conversation

I don’t understand how the largest tech company in the world hasn’t improved it’s so called AI in 10 years! Sack the team and make a partnership with Open AI. Their team can help Apple
Here is answer:

And here is some hope if you think AI is any good :D :

Useless.

How about iOS turning Do-Not-Disturb on automatically or asking you in a pop-up when starting a screen recording?

And while they're at it, how about the option to screen record directly to the Files.app?

I think pronunciation is a big factor. Have you tried over-pronouncing "day". Humans do tend to get lazy with our speech, and we expect technology to magically understand our ramblings.

"Day" "Living" "Room" -- try pronouncing each word very carefully a few times. Each successful hit will train Siri to recognize your words more accurately.

Thanks for the talking lesson. Yeah, of course I've tried overpronouncing words, once Siri has blown past the obvious. It's infuriating to have to do, and results are not at all consistent.

I can understand a couple of close words being confused, but you're doing a lot of work to justify Siri's poor logic here.

"De"? What the hell even is that? And it's not like the word "day" is being said without context. There's a specific Home scene called "day living room" so it's really failing when it blows past one homonym to reach for something that I'm not even sure is a word in English.

Hi guys, when I tell Siri to take a screen recording, it only takes a screenshot but no video. I have to say that I say this in German. Does it work for you with the video recording when you speak English or does it only take a screenshot?

I get what you are saying here but sometimes I just do not understand its errors. I have Siri on my HomePod mini set to the version of English for my English-speaking country. To get my most-used scene I say one word to it after 'Hey Siri' that is the name of the scene. I say it clearly, no background noise. Normally it works. But then out of the blue, still being pronounced clearly etc, it tells me it cannot turn off a scene but only turn one on. I have not asked it to turn something off. I said one word. No other scene sounds remotely like it either. I think it is the inconsistency and unpredictability that is annoying in my case. And I did report it but I feel like it would be more productive telling a random passing stray cat.
Sometimes I wonder if there are different servers or something. I find sometimes my HomePod will understand the name of a radio station and Siri on my iPhone will not. Or I'll get different results on each one. It's a damn mess and inconsistent as well.

Command+Shift+5...?

EDIT: Oops - I see this is for iOS... How do you delete a post around here...?
I did the same oops and caught it when I was reading through the comments. I just want MacOS screen recording of zoom seminars to include AUDIO.

I've noticed Siri misinterpreting words pretty easily, too, but most things that I use her for work well. Setting timers, setting alarms, starting/stopping navigation. All of those work well. Where she fails miserably is starting specific songs or artists.

I hope this is true because my wife’s name is close to “Siri” apparently. it always triggers when I call out to her.

One day I caught myself mid-yell from the living room to the kitchen and we had a big laugh “Hey… you”😅

You can do this by creating a special aggregate audio device in the MIDI setup tool. It will record macOS sounds to the screen recording. I don't remember the precise steps, but you can Google around and find a tutorial. I use it a lot to record screen audio that is also being sent to the MacBook speakers.

I've been trying but so far was only able to set this up if I installed a 3rd party plugin.

I would up using Blackhole but still had issues with not being able to monitor audio while I recorded or not be able to record if I want to monitor.

Anyone know where I can find a comprehensive explanation?

Audio Hijack Pro is also excellent for this kind of thing. It will let you route and record audio from anything on the Mac.

And now my Reminders are totally broken on iOS.

I used to be able to say "add drop off package to the Household list due tomorrow at noon" and it would add it to my Household list with that due date. Very convenient.

Now, when I say exactly this, it tells me I don't have a "Household due" list and would I like to set one up.

****ing infuriating. Just when you think you have worked out what Siri can and can't do, it's just randomly changes.

Sorry I missed this. Yes - I also had to set up a second (listening) device using Blackhole. The trick is to then use Midi Audio set up to create an aggregate audio device:

Then, in regular sound settings, you can select Input to be Blackhole:

And Output to be the new aggregate audio device you've created.
This then seems to pipe internal sound to both the Macbook speakers and allows them to be recorded if you select this device in QuickTime etc.

Wow thanks! I'm going to give this a try.
