Give Developers API access and build (or port from OS X) a proper Launch Services API so we can get default open with dialogs in iOS and default Siri support for 3rd party apps in both.

Developers are carved out of the natural language API of iOS and soon OS X - I'd really like to see and use them.

i really want the ability to remove spotlight and NC from the menu bar.

This. However I'd be very interested in a Spotlight symbol that shows indexing activity again.
Not that I don't have a suspicion anyways when my HDD keeps churning for half an hour after a system crash on logging in.
You know, the most important thing on an HDD-equipped Mac is loading all pre-crash applications AND reindexing the system at once. :D
(oh I forgot that Time Machine also kicks in)

I am looking forward to Siri only Mac, if it really does comes to the Mac. I wonder if it will be more or less the same as on iOS, or if they adapted it for the different OS.

Siri has been the missing piece of the jigsaw for quite sometime now. I assume this version of the app will be based around search?

As i use the Speech options in OS X to read web pages to me (throw a page into reader view, cmd +A etc . . .) so I hope that doesn't get swallowed up :(

Also, will this Siri have a voice?? I think for most people who have iPhones Siri is all about the chat back to you.

Apple will probably use Handoff to coordinate between devices using the same Apple ID and determine which to activate on. Perhaps even use the strength (volume) data from each microphone to determine which is closer to you and activate that one. Not sure how this would work if you were sitting at your desk with your laptop and phone though. Perhaps a pre-selected preference when devices are near? Like if your Mac and iPhone are near each other, you can choose to have it default to your Mac since you're most likely working on it anyway

This.

That's exactly what I'm thinking about. With all that continuity and handoff stuff going on and bluetooth enabled all the time anyway, you could have just ONE Siri on all of your devices. If several devices are around and recognize you saying "Hey Siri!", all those devices' mics combined could be used for optimal understanding of your following command. Then based on what you say and other factors like proximity, your devices could negotiate on which Siri will answer you.

If your Watch is raised, no other device should answer and Siri would also answer silently. If not, she would speak to you through one of your other nearby devices.

For things like "Remind me of [thing] when I get [place]" or just generic questions, it wouldn't matter which device answered, so Siri would just answer on the one closest to you (or the one you're currently using). For things like "Open [App/File]", Siri would answer on the device you're currently using or you most recently interacted with. For device-specific requests like "Turn the brightness down", it would be the same, or you could specify like "Turn my phone's brightness down" or "Reduce the volume on my iMac". The possibilities are endless.

I have good hope they'll figure out how to do it best. It's Apple, after all.

I seem to be in the minority here, but I don't want my computer listening to every sound in the room. I have Siri disabled on my iPhone for that very reason.

The biggest feature Apple could give me in 10.12 would be to give back all the speed and stability they've removed since 10.6.

Let me be the first to say, the easier the input method on the device, the less value I see for Siri.

AppleTV = most difficult for input = Best for Siri
iOS devices = modest input difficulty/speed = Good for Siri
Mac = easiest/fastest input via keyboard and mouse = less than ideal for Siri.

I'm not sure I see myself waiting on Siri, which takes forever most of the time, instead of just doing it. I'm already seated with my hands on the keys. It just doesn't fit with the application for Siri.
I absolutely agree, BUT, siri is ALWAYS great with setting up reminders, adding calendar events, and doing other things that take a lot of detailed input!

DudeDad: "Siri, I'm alone now, so search 'porn'"
Siri: "Again? Why don't you do something constructive? I texted your wife, she knows."

Now if they could only get Siri to work more consistently on my Apple Watch...

Is it just me, Every time I can't get an answer for SIRI I just ask google and it works flawless.

Sure this will be a big subject for WWDC in a few months. Will there be an API for third party apps to take advantage of a MacOS-based Siri?
