Well good for the former Siri team for innovating past what they did with Siri. Apple has integrated Siri into OS - but I don't think it has truly brought it a leap forward as they should by now.

It's interesting as Siri was actually handy and smart a couple years back, (still limited) but now she is the most annoying failure (not feature) on iOS. I absolutely hate Siri.

Kal.

How could Siri be 'Handy' and 'Smart' a few years back, but not today? As compared to the past, Leaps and bounds have improved for Siri. She's not perfect, but your statement does not boast anything of why Siri is far less superior from then until now. My experience has been more than stellar.

So sad that now this is what people call Artificial Intelligence. Talk about setting the bar low.

As if there is anything more mind blowing that the general public has access to at this point? If you have any further credentials on where the bar should be set, I'm eager to read your reply based on your hypothesis of Artificial Intelligence.

Mr. Roboto- is that you??

So, what's the deal here, we converse with technology from now on or what. Goodbye human to human interaction and hello technology.. The more we are heading into Futurama

We live in exciting times

Just anorher strategy to sell a "new" product. The viv-boys are just doing their job: Spelling ill of a sold predecessor is part of profit maximation. It's that simple. I found really unsexy haters of Siri here, maybe related to that campain.

Personally, I think Siri does her job quite well. I do not know one single person here in the real world around me, that hates Siri.

We are living in a competive world. But spitting across the street is beyond cultivated colloquial. It's that easy.

If they want a company to work with they should stay away from Apple. Too many internal politics and it will get shoved in the conner somewhere and never see the light of day.

That's true of any big company. Maybe they learned their lesson and will go it alone this time.

My limited experience with Hound was pleasant. Much faster than Siri and understood what was told every time. I'm lucky if Siri even tries to work on my watch. I find myself saying "hey Siri" multiple times before giving up and setting a timer on my own.

Voice recognition using a relational database with multiple associative weighed vendors creating a single response based on compounded queries. Not bad work boys!

Care to explain what a "weighed vendor" is?

Here is a post of mine on the topic:

Let me share a very noteworthy insight - was meeting with some software developers that are and have been quite active at UC Berkeley, ICSI, and Stanford AI efforts. I asked for their opinions on Apple / Siri. The uniform answer was that Apple had no one that competent in the AI field. They were puzzled as to why Apple, with all its cash, had not hired the best people and become far more capable in the area. Sounds like the Maps debacle and streaming video content failure.

The thought was that possibly neither Cook nor his team can recognize talent. Picking the wrong people for the wrong reasons?

If you don't have vision and execution capacity the future looks dim......

I don't know why she seems to have devolved...
But with my use of Siri in the past, she used to tell jokes, would actually almost debate with me on something or say snarky/witty comments, she was more accurate in doing what I asked and was able to do more tasks. I try the same thing on the 6s plus and she is constantly messing up not hearing what i say even if i'm an inch away, she also contantly says "i can't do that" on tasks she could do before, (all this despite software refreshes and iPhone iOS restores.) The same happens on my family's iPhone 6s'.... so i'm not boasting anything, only stating my personal viewpoint of what I think Siri was and now is like.. (again in my eyes.)
Glad your experience with Siri is good, mine and several people (including Apple Technicians, Best Buy Apple salesman, and family and friends) all have said and or agreed to having the same experiences as I have and am having.

I would not be surprised if Siri went dementia on us.
"Siri, schedule me an appointment with the doctor tomorrow."
siri: "okay, I scheduled it."
"Siri, when did you schedule my doctor appointment?"
Siri: "you haven't made one."

Yeah. Siri used to be able to actually at least know what she couldn't do.

So sad that now this is what people call Artificial Intelligence. Talk about setting the bar low.
Apple never refers to Siri as an artificial intelligence. And it is not one.

Apple had this stuff on iOS for years. It's called Voice Control. That's all Siri does.

The charade is over. It's not funny anymore, it's not entertaining. Siri is Voice Control. Open App Siri.

Mine experience with Siri is good too. Sorry for the poor people that always suffer from "bad" products. It's their attitude for live?? ;-)

Did you dictate that post using Siri? :D:eek::p

I wish these guys were still around to help my poor friend Siri. She's just not that helpful.

Man if only she could let me make reminders and appointments offline. I travel a lot and don't always have the internet where I am. This is just for starters (I'm hooked into my calendar and tasks)
