What I hate most is Tim has the gaul to put out commercials about Siri, yet they have basically side line it and done nothing with it!

Come on Apple, just kill Siri! Put it out of it's misery!
Apple has been working on a major update for Siri out of a research team in Cambridge MA for the last three years. Just because they haven't released it yet (note that Viv has taken three years to develop) doesn't mean Siri isn't in for a major update.

Can you guys hold off a friggin month until WWDC? There is a reason why much of the industry tries to catch press attention before June, they know Apple's major developer event will be driving the tech journalism headlines for weeks so they pre-empt them to make sure their message gets out.

What I think of when I hear "Viv"...

But it can't talk back and give a straight yes and no answer? He asks about the weather and all he gets is a screen with the weather app. Not that great for me.
That would be fairly easy to build out frankly. Possibly the easiest thing Siri does is text to speech. In fact, OS X has had that capability for over a decade.

True, but it's been a long time coming. Google now has been superior since early 2015 (probably even more). And to be honest, Siri needed significant improvement back in 2014, and not much has happened. Yet Apple really loves those commercials with siri!

Apple is getting called on not innovating big time, it's completely justified. You are right June will be interesting.. let's hope for the best...

This is absolutely right. Nothing much has happened in the intervening years and I'm not confident that another month or another year will make a difference.

I'll eat my words if we get a 17" MBP. But somehow, I think my hunger will be reduced more by reheating that soup in the fridge.
