I must not be the only magician, as my employees also say that Siri is now back to working here. I think it must not be wide spread or this thread would be much longer that 25 posts.

siri now works for me sporadically. the first time i say 'hey siri' or press the home button it generally works...if i try something immediately afterwards, including holding down the home button, it does the thing where i get the ding and the microphone immediately turns itself off(?) and she can't hear me.

wonder what the common thread is for people who are having the problem.

Not sure but I missed it when it did not work.

When I was having a problem Siri could hear me just fine but then presented me with a "list of this Siri can do" and then would say that she does not understand my question.

All is good now, hope it get fixed for the rest of you!

Love your Avatar!

it works sporadically...but not consistently. i'd like for it to actually work the way it did a week or so ago.

Well after doing nothing mine seems to be back to normal. Ironically it seemed to be after I installed the new Google Assistant
BINGO!!!! Jaggrey, you just identified the culprit! I just uninstalled GBoard and voila, problem gone, Siri working again. This must have initiated when I updated GBoard a week ago, it was odd as the first two times trying to update it dl'd but didn't install, a day or so later I tried again and it installed, roughly the time Siri jumped ship. I have reinstalled GBoard and Siri is still working 100%.

Glad it works but thinking this is just a coincidence as I had the same problems and do not have and never have had GBoard on my device.

Glad it is working agin for you!

I have Gboard installed but I don't remember if it's been updated recently. I know when I was having Siri issues Gboard was great with dictation!
