lol...its 64% faster ...minor.

Yes the phone is faster but from my ip4 I don't have an issue running most things. If anything I need more ram to run more programs. I find myself sitting at 50mb free often. At that point things start slowing vs having 175 free. If I can get it on my ip4 then rock on but otherwise bring on the model after the ip4s.

I have a feeling that the "engineers" in here don't really know what Siri needs, be it ram (same in 4 or 4S) or the dual core chip but they are quick to speculate.

Lets give the JBers some time to tell us what or if Siri will work on the 4. My assumption is that it looks for the A5 chip and there's some form of handshake between them.

It's amazing how quickly people forget.

When the 3GS came out with voice controls there was no way to get the 3G to "unlock" this feature. Now that iOS has evolved just a little bit since then, I highly doubt the iPhone 4 will be able to use Siri.

Activation voice command was simply changing a line from false to true on your iPhone 3g

Funny because Siri was a app on the iPhone 4 and was yanked right (apples app store) after they announced the iPhone 4S. So it seems iPhone 4 was running it just fine .. it wasnt just fully programmed with the whole iOS but it did basically the same thing.

Funny... Can't run it ... but it could ... hm

This really not the same thing, it's way more complex and is totally embedded into the whole os (it's not just an app to add of a line to change for false to true). They'll have a lot of work hacking all of that.

Without siri, iPhone 4s doesn't have a good enough reason to sway people to upgrade. Especially with the possibility of a new iPhone in June.

why in the world do you think will be a new phone in june????
that is probably the single dumbest thing i have seen in this forum including references to a nonexistent itouch

Maybe you have a point....at the same token, apple released an iPhone in october. Anything is possible in this day in age.......

There will not be a new phone in June. The next phone will wait for the A6 will will likely not be a working chip until June, so we will be lucky to see full production by Fall.

I'm pretty sure the A6 is going to be included in the ipad3 so should be in full preduction soon. but regardless this dude is dumb if he thinks there will be another phone in june

Well I think the IP4 is more than capable of handling siri, but ask yourself this:

Siri is only working with a direct connection to apple. Will the apple servers acknowledge or even react to siri connections comig from an iPhone4???

The Iphone 4 could just report that is is the iphones. They are already working on a port to the iphone 4.

We dont even have access to the 4S iOS version yet. Once we do we can then see the differences involved and possibly get siri working on the i4...But until that time we have no idea!

Yes the devs over on the limerain site have a write up to get it part workingas the framework is there but its a long way off.

It could simply be not possible and coded to only use the A5 chip...

We can only wait.

I don't know much about enabling stuff other then editing plists, but im pretty sure it's not just edit plist as stated on limera1n website, apple probably did some kind of check to their server or some sort

Just saw that. MuscleNerd basically saying that it won't happen without it being considered piracy.

Blah.

That just means the Dev-team won't work on it. I don't see how it's any different when they enabled 3GS features for the 3G. I have feeling several jb will look into it.

Apparently the iPad 1 cannot run iMovie but you can easily install it using the corporate IT program that I cannot remember what it is called and it runs fine.

I smell a sell.

If it an app that goes onto the 4s then I guess this would be the cheat.

That just means the Dev-team won't "officially" work on it. I don't see how it's any different when they enabled 3GS features for the 3G. I have feeling several jb will look into it.

Fixed for you :)
