Siri Interface May Move to Dynamic Island on Newer iPhones Running iOS 17

How about just giving me back the option to select which microphone to listen from. The one in my car is awful but the on device mic works perfectly. But of course when I try to use Siri or dictation it only wants to hear from the car and of course absolutely mangles what I said.
There used to at least be a little Bluetooth icon to let me select input but, as with all software today it seems, when they made the interface "better" they removed useful functionality.

I've been thinking for a while this was going to happen. I'd speculate that ideally they want to move the camera and sensors under the display (rumours of this coming) and the dynamic island will become more of an interactive point. Probably something on the top left of the screen (since there is no drag-down or other interactions happening in that corner) and might appear as a smaller dynamic island that slides in and out to the right for things like notifications and then recede again (instead of the current giant blocks that pop down and up from the top). Maybe there will be press and hold for bigger previews/small interactions. This would help bring a digital assistant more front and center. The camera could darken a circle on the display in the top left corner where it's located and maybe even have something like a circular animation when it's in use. Darkening could also help with light-bleed issues and then return to the dynamic island/assistant when not using the camera. It could be tap to toggle between normal phone use and a revised assistant/past notifications area screen that is perhaps a popover non-fullscreen screen window, doing away with the current pull down from the middle of the screen.
I agree that Siri is useless currently. At this point they are clearly either going to have to improve it in a giant leap (unlikely) or replace it entirely with something else. The digital assistant/AI clearly isn't going away though.

Siri has got to improve a lot. But dynamic island seems like a better place for Siri animation.
People can see the blob and 'I'm sorry, I am having a little trouble understanding right now' message at the top of the screen instead. Progress lol.

Lol. I really wish a generative AI fully replaced Siri! And the lead Apple hired from Google to improve her and he never did for 5yrs and is now the lead of their “car” project?! Lmao!
Right!? The issue is entirely Siri completely needing to be overhauled. In this day if generative AI and Apple is changing where the prompt animation queue is?! Compete laughing stock!
I’m using Bing now. Funny how we all hated Microsoft’s name for a browser years ago is now a great feature they have.
Guess that island isn't going away any time soon now.
This news makes no sense for those of us using devices WITH a notch. I’m not upgrading anytime soon not unless Apple can evolve the iPhone into an Oppo Find N2/Flip design and do it better!
Until then I’m happy with my 13 mini until all future damages and repairs have been done and iOS no longer is supported (6yr from now).
