the old voice controls responded to what you had stored in the nickname field...hopefully that means they won't take the feature out

the old voice controls responded to what you had stored in the nickname field...hopefully that means they won't take the feature out
I want to know if I can rename Siri. I know you don't have to say "Siri..." but I'd like to say "Siri, you will now be called 'Hallie'" (get it, a female Hal?) then, have it recognize that for itself. 🙂

You can identify relationships.
Lisa is my wife
Sally is my mom
Fred is my son, etc.
Tell it once and everything you say "Call my Wife" it will know what you mean unless you tell Siri otherwise. I'm sure you can manually go into Siri and well and change them by hand.
What if you have multiple kids? Dunno yet, you might not be able to say "Call my Daughter" without siri needing clarification.

This was a huge story on another site, will be interesting for people who have low plans.
Me : Sally (mistriss) wants to know when i'm available next for a quicky downtown.
Siri : Next available time is 3:30 PM.
Me : Meh, move it to right now and bump everything else to later.
Siri : Ok. Should I let your wife know?
Me : Yes send her an updated "anniversary dinner" event request.
Siri : You suck...

Well, this would save you some time, now wouldn't it? I mean, if someone is screaming "Call the police" over the shoulder, chances are you'd call the police.
