Well, mixed results for me. I switched back to US English for Siri and removed the UK keyboard. Now Siri works fine but I still cannot dictate. I had to add the English Canada keyboard to dictate. Whatever.

I’m hopping (back) on the beta train of 16.1 to see if that fixes Siri and dictation for me. I’m really over having to jump through 24 hoops just to get basic functionality like dictation and a voice-activated assistant to work properly.

Let me know how it goes. I might follow you

In settings try general>keyboard>keyboards and make sure you have English uk as an option.
After that general > keyboard> dictation languages and make sure you have English uk selected.

Once I did this, the stupid thing worked in dictation too lol.

I don’t even have an option for “dictation languages” in my settings. What a mess

try this:
1) switch the Siri language from English (US) to English (UK) (or vice versa, depending on which one is working)
2) switch the keyboard from English (US) to English (UK)
3) Turn off Dictation and Auto-Punctuation
4) RESTART PHONE
5) switch all the settings back in reverse order
This worked for me as well. Thank you!

It actually broke dictation and Siri for me on my iPhone 13 Pro Max.
Same here on my 14 PM. I’m going to try the fixes in this thread.

Edit: The fixes didn’t work but as soon as I switched it to English UK, then it started working. So I’ll leave it on that I guess until a fix comes.

Edit 2: Siri sounds like an old telephone.

I have the same issue, both on 16.0.2 and now 16.0.3. The steps sdlevi27 suggested did not work. Apple Support said that their engineers are aware of the problem and working on it now. They probably either hired some Microsoft engineers by mistake to update Siri or some one from the initial Apple Maps team continue to work. Sad!

“Working on it now” suggests it won’t be sorted in 16.1. Has anyone downloaded the RC to see?

You Da Man!

On the Home App, there is a way to make Siri recognize your voice on all devices (personal request).
