I had no idea Siri was that intelligent. I knew about some of them but not all.

Hopefully Googles is as intelligent. I think I'll be using the calendar etc features more than search.

"remind me when I leave to pick up milk" I could use that nearly every day!

I wish it worked that way, but location based reminders on iphone are not that great. I set a test reminder to take the trash out when I get home, I forgot all about it, later while driving miles away from home, it reminds me. Also, it would be nice to say remind me to get milk when I get to the grocery store, now obviously this requires some up front teaching, and I DID do this, but the gps (even though it's always on) was simply not that pin point accurate, it would either not register or not work, or work while I was already driving home.. I gave up on location based reminders. However there is an app for android that does JUST the stuff I mentions Local I think, Ive been debating on spending the money, but a hear good things from users.

The thing a lot of people are not looking at here, is how wonderful google now is, AND how fast they were able to make the darn thing happen. In less than a year they have something that can give Siri a run for her money! with a bit more time and polish, GNow will shine! For the first time, I feel as though android has a system that can truly stand up to iOS and slap it in the face... I do however enjoy the iPhones simplicity of doing things, and how well everything really does "just work" I mean years later and android eMail apps still look like crap, K-9 works really good but looks like poo...

Now that I've had some extended time with the Nexus and Google Now, I can confirm what I've been saying all along:

Google Now voice queries = Dictation into a Google Search

I've tested it over and over again, simply adding the word "Google" to whatever I say to Siri, gives me the exact same results, with the exact same formatting, as a Google Now search.

When you consider that Google is bringing an apparently more advanced form of the Google Now voice commands to the iPhone (with features not on Android), I don't see how this can be seen as a selling point for Android.

When you think about it, this makes a lot of sense for them:

1. Google makes almost all of their money on search.

2. Google makes more money from the iPhone than all Android devices combined.

3. Google's investment in Android is this far a net loss.

4. Google Now searches are only available on Jellybean, representing 0.8% of the Android market.

This is very similar to the iPhone having Google Chrone, while the majority of Android phones are not compatible. As long as Google is a for-profit business, I don't see this behavior changing.

Lets be real, The speed difference here is no where near critical. Siri comes literally right behind google now. The things one should care about are how the two search for what you ask for and how many times you have to press the button to get the answers you seek. Who cares that google now is point whatever faster? Now if Siri was miles behind in speed, then this would be an issue.

While I would award Google with the win in that contest I find the reviewer himself to be annoyingly cheerleaderish.

I'd say "Google edges out Siri to take the Win."

He calls it a "Complete blowout."

Is this a video from Google or something? It would make more sense then, if it was actually marketing.

Rettinger is pretty fair and balanced. i love him

I agree that siri is simply easier, however of location based task, locale for android is miles, LEAPS, and BOUNDS ahead of what iPhone can do. Now do I hope the iPhone location based services get a major update? You bet! I'm a fan of competition, and I hope android really does force Apple iOS to keep pushing and never stay stagnant, people forget the days the iPhone couldn't send MMS!! Or copy and paste, they push each-other to give users what they want, and need, and the ultimate winners is... US!

For now siri is better in my honest opinion, but I NEVER got to use Siri the way I wanted to, locations never worked, and reminders were no-where near what Any.do or Astrid for android. With Astrid having a Locale plug-in the location based reminders are WAAAYYYY better and more useful than the iPhone, however it will require a few more clicks than siri. I would rather go through a "bit" more hassle and have a real location based reminder, than a quick and easy reminder that simply doesn't work....

Not sure how Siri is better than Google Now. No comparison in my opinion. From what I've seen online and demo'd Google Now blows Siri away. Siri is average at best and actually delivering what I ask it to do. She has long way to go. I hope the next gen iPhone delivers a better version of Siri, more than they demo'd at WWDC. I'm running beta of iOS 6 now and I see no improvement over iOS 5 as far as voice recognition and execution. Sure they are some more things you can ask her, but Google Now IMO just seems better.

Your comparison is invalid, the information presented can support a conclusion that those apps are better than the iOS stock Reminders app, but you cannot conclude that they are "better and more useful than the iPhone".

The iPhone has many location based reminder apps which are more accurate and provide more functionality than the stock reminder app that Siri uses.

Completely the opposite of my experience. We must be asking Google Now different things, becuse it failed at 100% of my tests when I asked it to do some simple things that Siri does for me on a daily basis.

you are correct, I am sure other iOS apps can plug in a better locations based reminder.

On another note:

I would also like to point at Tasker as a large advantage of the android system... This assumes you want to spend day learning a new app, and still not know how to use it all! lol
