Because you have every sorry loser asking siri stupid questions to see what it says.... then of course asking it out on a date, telling it they love it, asking it the meaning of life, when it was born ect ect.

I haven't had any issues over the last few days.

Funny...very funny...but probably 100% correct!

It's been out for 6 months now. Siri should have improved, but instead it's become useless.
That's odd. I'm Dutch, I have a horrible accent, something like a cross between a Texan and an Ozzie, and I've just been playing with Siri for an hour. Most of what I say is recognised correctly the first time I say it (95%?). Siri has a serious problem with finding contacts, but, I'm used to the Dutch way of pronouncing 'Gerard Jansen', so it's hard to guess how Siri would pronounce (and thus recognise) that kind of name.

Despite me being Dutch and flaunting my horrible accent Siri is actually usable for me. Some thing are hard (contacts) and some things are impossible (locations) but in general Siri is a useful addition.

When the 4S initially launched we saw some issues because everyone was using the new toy. I remember I got several people to buy the 4S by showing them Siri two weeks after launch. Now? Embarrassing and unsuccessful demos left and right, I have Siri off.

Edit what she shows to say what you mean and then she will get it right next time. Just tap on the words that come up and then re-edit them

If I try to play the song "Un Giorno Per Noi" it never works. It should, since it's in my library, but it never gets it correctly.

Don't get me started on trying to play the playlist "New Hawt". It will come back telling me there's no playlist called "New Hot".

I only have about 10 playlists I wonder which one sounds like "hot"...

Hmm. Siri has worked consistently for me since launch and has always been more accurate in my experience than the trained DragonSpeech software I use on my PC.

That said, her functionality is still a bit lacking. But that's why she's in Beta. I was kind of hoping Apple would be introducing on going improvements on the back end, I hope that means they are working on a major update.

I've found Siri to be quite reliable in my car through the Bluetooth stereo, but only for simple tasks like reading out my texts or calling somebody

I've said it before that Apple should put basic dictation directly on the phone such as the new iPad has. It seems to work much better than Siri for simple stuff.
Leave Siri and the network connection it requires for actual inquires that need it. That would hopefully reduce load on the Siri servers and let Apple focus on making Siri searches and answers better.

I love when Siri doesn't work as people expected, especially when it was the primary reason they upgraded from an iPhone 4.

Hopefully it will be drastically improved by iOS 6.

What's the difference between the new iPad dictation and the dictation you get on the 4s on every keyboard screen?

Within the last month, accuracy has diminished. I get around 60 percent accurate response from Siri. Turning off Bluetooth helped considerably, but still very bad. Most of the time it just times out.

Siri has really declined in quality.

today I was trying to play my playlist "Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded" and I would say very clearly, "Siri, play my playlist 'Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded'" and Siri would ALWAYS comeback saying "Stephen, sorry, I could not find a playlist called Pink Friday Roman Read loaded"

Seriously?

Scroll back up and edit what you said. Hit done. Next time Siri should get it right.

Bloody typical! Saying that i just asked what time is it in the Caribbean. Told me my local time. Must be too early for Siri (roll eyes)

I've had my 4S for over a month, and I use Siri daily for simple tasks like short texts and searches. It's usually spot on, but I noticed if there is noise or people talking in the background it may not recognize.

I will have to refute this. I do this all the time, and just for the heck of it, try the query again. Siri still does not "get it"

Here I try it:

Here I type in the correction:

She will, but it's not practical when you're driving, or your hands are tied up. And you would think that Siri would learn it for future reference, but nope. She keeps on reverting back to her old ways. I do hope that the editing feature so Siri learns is included over time. That should be a major feature of Siri!

I was wrong about the iPad not needing a network connection. It still uses a network signal but it does seems much faster. Probably cause it's only translating speech to text and not really looking up information. If you turn off your WiFi or cellular then the mic goes away.

FYI, Siri doesn't work at all hardly on Sprint iPhones due to poor network data speeds. Verizon it works okay most of the time, and AT&T all the time.

So go by that to know.
