I assume you think I'm using Windows for this. On to the next one...

I'm still using Tiger. No Boot Camp. The Newegg product viewing gallery uses some bizarre Java or flash setup that actually expects help from the GPU to function. And in all fairness, why shouldn't it?

Oh, and when I say "simple 2D game", I mean GameBoy emulator—hence, although simple, it is extraordinarily inefficient. Trying to play Eve Online using the Mac client (which uses Cider) also produces predictable results: framerates as low as .3 FPS.

Vut I dont feel like investing any money into Leopard for this MacBook if I'm not going to be using it within the year and I have an older PC that does everything the Mac won't without Windows.

Hackintosh!

I can't get my newer, more interesting version to upload properly, so here's the older one:

My system specs are listed in the comments. I'm using my Hackintosh now. I can do everything, edit videos with FCP, download with Bittorrent, play World of Warcraft (canceled that horrible game though), etc.

Why would I assume you were in Windows? There's no way a MacBook should be overheating playing games, nevermind viewing photos. My MacBook runs games like Call of Duty 2, Unreal Tournament, and a NSES emulator without a hiccup. The fans jump up, yeah, but that's perfectly normal.

If the system is overheating and crashing, then you have a problem. That is not normal behaviour. As I said, the early Rev. A MacBooks had some overheating trouble to begin with. Mine used to throw a Kernel Panic and crash from overheating when I first got it, but they came out with a firmware update pretty quick to fix that problem.

Make sure your MacBook is running the most recent software and firmware, and if the problem persists, then get it looked at.
