How is this going to be any different than the Low Power Mode that launched with WatchOS 9?
The optimized power consumption affects accuracy of both GNSS and HR to significantly decrease their power consumption. Now that Low Power mode does not affect either (during an activity), these optimizations are on top of the Low Power mode.

I have a Series 5 Watch (Cellular) with Telekom here in Germany; I would be ecstatic at the possibility of roaming with it (I travel a lot).

I have gotten so used to leaving my iPhone at home and just wandering about with the watch, the ability to do that when overseas would be brilliant.

So…once Apple figures out how to add those late to the show features they will get added? Bwahahahahaha!!!

“Here is our brand new Mercedes top of the line roadster. As soon as we figure out how to make the brakes work we will add them. So drive carefully for the next few months,” said no one ever!

I can buy a dive computer which measures gas exchange in real-time, and thus gives me accurate decompression table information, and it doesn't require a subscription, it just works.
Just out of curiosity, how much does this dive computer cost? Does it do anything else or is it just a dive computer? How many days do you dive a year?
Apple gives me a POS dive application which doesn't actually measure the amount of air left in my tank, guesses at decompression information, and rips me off with a subscription.
I have been diving for 20 years. I do 1-3 dive trips a year, so I am a casual diver. I have never switched to an air integrated computer, as it just is not important to me. My BF is also a casual diver. I have had many dive logbooks over the years and have no idea where most of them are. I like the idea of using the watch that I have already purchased as my occasional dive computer. Happy to pay $10 bucks for a month if I am diving over a few days, of $5 for a one day trip. Definitely seems like this product is not geared for you.

Race Route would be good for cyclists too - I don't run, but I tend to bike the same trails route in the summer. I hope Apple expands that feature to more than running.
Yes also expand it to race driving on track like Road America in Elkhart Lake, WI! Enable Bluetooth & WiFI connectivity to OBD adapters like:

PLX Devices' Kiwi4 https://www.plxdevices.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=897346002092
or
OBDLink MX WiFI https://www.obdlink.com/support/

I just want the 1st and 3rd bands.

Oceanic+ having a $5/day tier is kinda nutty. I can sorta see it in the case you go diving as a one-off. But even then it's not as bad as this cancerous and predatory practice on a game targeting kids who don't know any better:

It makes a lot of sense to me. If somebody only dives 2 or 3 times a year, they pay $10-$15 for the 2 or 3 daily subscriptions rather than $79 for those 2 or 3 days and the other 362 days they don't use it.

I buy an unlimited boat launch pass every year. It costs me $200, but I launch my boat 20-30+ times a year. For somebody who only launches their boat 2 or 3 days a year, it would make more sense for them to pay the $15 daily launch fees and spend $30-$45 instead of $200. Options are a good thing.

I was thinking about it. For me, with two to three one week drive trips, I get a nice dive computer for $20-$30 a year. There have been trips where I knew I could only dive one day, so saving $5 over the month would be cool.

I do not know many casual divers that have more than three to four trips a year, so at worst that is $40 a year. For snorkeling, the free depth app is sufficient.

How will the international roaming work? Will it be free (included with your prevailing data plan) or subject to roaming fees?

Knock me over with a feather.

I really prefer to upgrade the watch every year, but this is the first time since I skipped Series 1 that I haven't updated. Just a weak year for Apple Watch.

Total garbage. Ever since Tim took over, he just rips off Apple customers left and right. Such a damn cheapskate a**hole.
Finally. Someone that actually does the activities Apple say they designed this for commenting! All of these people here saying it’s the best are probably just using it while laying on the couch watching tv.

Hopefully there'll be other Diving apps soon -- especially those which you don't need to rent.
Curious how many drive trips you make a year. I do 1-3 trips a year, sometimes with a only a single possible day of diving (3 day trip). At a max of $30 a year, it would probably be 5 to 10 years before I would hit the price of my physical dive watch. I am happy to pay for it this way, as I think the market is fairly small and I want to make sure they feel it is worth it to keep developing it.

What do you think a fair price for this would be?

As I have said before, I go on 1-3 dive trips a year. I do not have an air integrated dive computer and am unlikely to ever get one. I was just talking to a friend who is a dive instructor/dive master in Bonaire, who said it really fits the use case of lots of his customers. They come down for a week, dive most days and then go home until their next dive trip a year later. What makes it the best for me (and many others like me), is that it is a great smart watch with great health and fitness tracking features that is well integrated to the ecosystem that I use.

It is not the best dive computer, but it does not have to be, it just has to be a good enough diver computer to replace an average dive computer of the kind used by most divers. This watch does not have as its goal to take on every Garmin and Suunto smart watch. Its goal is to just grab a bit more of that market. Each new iteration taking a bit more.

If you read other threads on here, or either of the threads on DCRainmaker, and you will see lots of people who are giving up various Garmin watches for this one. Everyone of those losses is a serious issue for Garmin, as people leaving the ecosystem, will not be upgrading and will not be encouraging others to enter it.
