Sketchy Evidence of iPhone 3.1.3 and iPhone 4.0 OS

I cant wait to see where they take the iPhone with 4.0

Seems too soon, but a "friend" in a programming shop for the iPhone suggested that 4.0 would be out around February/March to compete with some of the features of the Pre and new Google phone offering. He was spot on with his date for the latest 3.x release, so we'll see. My personal hunch is the usual summer roll-out with the next generation iPhone.

4 beta will likely be rolled out to devs a couple months before the next gen phones are released in June/July; so it has been for all major upgrades.

Apple needs to get a freaking move on. There are already a dozen or so phones out now that do multitasking. I really hope they do a major polish in the early part of the new year. Google will have become the motorola of smart phones by July.

I know its tradition to do the whole June/July announcement but the competition is moving too fast in my opinion. I'd love to see new iPhones in Feb.

I really really hope Apple makes notifications less invasive in the next OS. I love the Pre's notifications on the bottom. They are out of the way and very slick. Combining social network data is a great idea too.

i can't wait either.. especially now google is taking their android os to diff levels..

apple needs to step up on the feature set and show everyone they are still boss

but it would make sense with new iphones in summer
