The placement of the rear facing camera just looks wrong.

So is the placement of the front camera.
If the front camera is going to move it should be closer to the top of screen not further away.

Facetime you tend to look at the person on screen not the camera.

Both look far to close to the edge.
So colour me skeptical.

Some of us are "larger" people with bigger hands and fingers. Larger screen helps. Some of us like to consume games and media more than calls and texts. Larger screen helps. Some use maps a lot. Larger screen helps. Some people have limited/poor eyesight. Larger screen helps.

A larger screen would not make my life "more complicated" - in fact, a whole lot easier and more convenient without need to tote an iPad around as much.

You should buy DamDung 7" tablet or 5.x" phablet
or
Buy iPad Mini..
except call it does every thing.....
keep a nokia 3310 for calling purpose...

My math indicates that this mockup has precisely the screen proportions of the current iPhone, so doubling the current resolution (and DPI) is 95% certain.
Current iPhone resolution is 1136 x 640, so based on this mockup, I predict a resolution of 2272 x 1280.
Doubling the resolution makes the existing apps 100% compatible by applying a 2x "zoom" (the same Apple made in iPhone 3GS>4 / iPad 2>3)

How is that logical? I already have an iPad Mini but wouldn't need to carry it around as often if the iPhone had a slightly larger screen to consume media better. It would be easier to fit in pocket and would make calls/3G connectivity easier. There's no need for a secondary device to do the same or even reduced functionality.

Now, back to the iPhone 4 design language. That was the last time in iPhone hardware that Apple proved they were still an innovative powerhouse.

Apple knows that they have to appear to be still capable of great ideas, especially in wake of their 2011 loss.

Changing the 4 year old iPhone design is inevitable. It's just a matter of when.

I'm not really sure what is meant by "design language" but, Apple has already released two new iPhone designs since the iPhone 4.

In the world of smartphone design nearly everything is a rectangle with round corners and a glass face. Design differences come down to edge shape, materials, and back. So, the change from iPhone 4 to iPhone 5 was a significant design variation. And, the 5c is another design significantly different than both 4 and 5.

I think most people are not that concerned with the external appearance of smartphones since a huge percentage of them are going to use a case anyway.

I'm a little less interested in the appearance of the iPhone 6 and more interested in the appearance of the Otterbox for iPhone 6. :)

Supermodel-thin bezels are ridiculous. They look good if you just stare at your phone all day sitting on your desk, but if you actually get outside and enjoy life and use the thing while doing that, you'll find you need some area on the edges to securely hold your phone while doing things other than sitting around looking at a phone. (If you have to put a case on it for everyday use, not just for special-use cases, it is a piss poor design for something that is to be used everyday.)

iPhone 5 has the perfectly sized long-side bezels. Any thinner and holding it becomes a chore since you don't have the "luxury" of wrapping your fingers around it slightly to hold it securely (or for that matter, you couldn't find a case that wouldn't interfere with basic operation). Any thicker and it is a waste of space.

Edge-to-edge glass/screen is great on desktop and laptop monitors. In fact I'm surprised that in 2014 there is a complete lack of great (yet affordable) monitors with sub-mm bezels on at least 2 sides

IMHO only a true zealot that puts form above all function would want edge-to-edge on a phone.

And as a side note, they do have single chip devices (SI1145) that will do ambient light AND proximity detection now (even does UV index calculations which might go good with "healthbook"). So only one hole could take care of all that.

Yes! I went to android because of there large screen and then my android started to act up so I switched to Apple. I hope they enlarge the phone.:):apple:

These leaks seems to be legitimate.... If you make the proportion based on the 5s you will have the same dimensions that are leaked in the sketchy report from a pair of days ago....

I fail to understand why people think their way of living, and only their way, should apply to everyone.

And I fail to see why people want Apple to make products that are clearly very blow the Apple standard. And phablets by definition are below the Apple standard.

Lol. 4.7 inches isn't a "phablet", it's not even that much bigger than the 5S.

And no, people don't pretend to like bigger phones and make excuses to justify it. They just actually like them.
You have to draw the line somewhere. Or it never ends and you get devices almost tablet sized being used like a phone.

A year ago I would be on board , but I bought a nexus 4 and the screen on it is amazing , such a nice media consumption tool , too bad android isn't such a bliss but larger screens are very nice so long as they don't get to 5.x"

Each to their own. Some people liked netbooks too even though the netbook was very good at nothing in particular. And the phablet is the same. Not particular good at anything. Yet people still want them. This makes zero sense to me.

The answer is to make the OS and content that is available of phones easier to use people with fat fingers and people with poor eyesight. Hoding a phablet to your ear is just pointless and looks horrible and feels horrible. I have used some of the droid phablets and just the feel of using them felt all wrong.

Fix the issues with creating more issues that phablets have.
