They've gotta give buyers a reason to upgrade to the next iPad mini somehow...
1. It would smaller, i.e. suites a different type of user
2. it would be sold along side the current one and wouldn't be an 'upgrade' but a different product.

Why would buy an Ipad mini when the chances are you can get the Ipad 1second hand for less? More so if it does have no camera or retina?![]()
I assume it will have the same price point as the iPad did when it came out. That is hundreds over the competition.
It definitely will have a camera. iPhone, iPad and iPod touch do. Why would it be left out on this?
The pic does look legit though..
Weight and size. Small--> good.
I have an original iPad and not once have I wanted a camera on the back. Maybe one in the front for facetime but I have an iPhone 4S and an iMac for that. If it helps keep the cost closer to $199 with no camera and no Retina display then I'm all for it.
It would be highly unusual not to have a camera. Apple's addicted to cameras.
Ding! Give that boy a cookie.
More likely is that this is a rear shell from some 7" Android tablet. Someone just stuck an Apple logo on it.
No chance that any iPad will be anything but 4:3 aspect ratio.
I'd like to see you hold on to the railing with one hand and use your other hand to read on your 10'' tablet while riding the bus or subway. Then, repeat that trick with a 42'' TV for extra credit.Most probably buy smaller tablets as they are cheaper.
Bit like going for a 32" tv over a 42" tv. You would always prefer the larger one but if it's cheaper then..![]()
