I doubt they will call it something else. Its a phone. It's by Apple. It'll be an iphone. No way getting round that. Perhaps an iphone mega. An iphone max. But it WILL be an iphone.
If you can swing a job as a business analyst, apparently yes.
While it is somewhat probable that Apple could release two versions of the iPhone as previously suggested by other reports, it is very unlikely that the company would drop the iPhone name for the larger phone given the iconic reputation of the brand.
So MR is telling us that Apple couldn't come up with a new name for a new product sandwiched between the iPhone and the iPad?
They must be talking about a different Apple than the one I know.
You're reading that very differently than I am.
I read it as Economic Daily News is telling us that Apple will (or maybe already has come up with a new name for the sandwich product.
Exactly as you suspect Apple might.

But MR is calling this "very unlikely." That was the point of my comment.
I think the editors' point was that it's unlikely that it's unlikely they wouldn't market a phone as an iPhone.
*head explodes*
I think what's very unlikely is that they will position this as any of their existing product categories: iPhone, iPad or iPod. They'll find a way to differentiating it from other phablets.

Honestly it's this sort of BS that makes me wonder why I continue to read MR. I love reading 9 out of 10 articles here but this is just link bait at its finest.
How about iSlate?
Apple registered iSlate.com a couple years ago. I remember reading about that here.

It's silly season, and will continue to be until WWDC unless Apple surprises us with a product launch before then.
iPad mini is not really a pocket device.
I'm rather annoyed by comments like yours. It is a rumor.
