just picked up a midnight 15" m4 16/256 for 866 on amazon warehouse. should be a nice upgrade from my 13" m1 8/256.

incredible deal, but where did you find that? that's not the deal referenced in this article ...
As dumb as this sounds, I am thinking about trading in my 13” M4 for both a 15” M5 and a Neo - both base models. That satisfies my desire to have access to laptops of both sizes.
This is hardly a deal. Just a couple months ago (around Cyber Monday) they were selling the 13'' 256GB M4 air for $750 at multiple retailers
I clicked that first link (15-inch M4 MacBook Air (256GB) for $999.00 ($200 OFF))
then clicked on Midnight color option
then chose the amazon warehouse option on the right side. I see another available at the moment but looks like they bumped the price up to $888
granted it's marked as "acceptable" quality so there's a chance it's way too dinged up when I get it and I'll send it back - but we'll see - as long as the screen is fine. a scratch or two on the shell won't bother me.

What's the lowest price we've seen the M4 Air 13" at? I see $899 on Best Buy right now... has it ever been lower?

I checked again, was $738 at amazon at one point(!), but the previous available one was $750 at a bunch of retailers, not just amazon.

That’s the official deals…. In Europe there are vendors who get hold of stock they sell as "Outlet". Brand new unopened. Just bought an MacBook Pro M4 16/1 for the equivalent of $250-300 off. You just won’t find it unless you go into each site
This is what I did a couple weeks ago from Costco. Got the 13" 512gb M4 Air for about $300 CAD off (down to base 256gb price).

I just ordered a open-box M4 from best buy for 800 15inch 16GB/256GB. I have a m1 macbook air which i have given to my girlfriend but she hasn't been using as much because of the screen size, i'm hoping this one will be better for her. it is heavier than the 13in macbook air but i'm hoping she doesn't travel with it as often to make more of a "desk" computer for her to use.
The value propositions are all muddy - i bought a m4 mac mini for 399 so everything in comparison everything is off.

Last week I got the M4 Air with Apple Refurb pricing plus my veterans 10% discount. A Sky Blue M4 with 24gb of memory and 1tb of storage for $1070! Couldn't resist. Should be good for 6+ years at least. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
