I remember when I was upgrading from 13PM to 14Pro RIGHT after launch,
People was like "why, 15 is when you expect big changes, lol, you joking??"

And now I see 14pro was the biggest leap apart iphone X, - camera is far more superior to 13P, new thermal design which is kind of worked, 2K nits, etc etc,

15 didn't live to expectations, I expected 30% more weight reduction!!!!! -20grams is not enough

Lol you felt like like you got a new phone going from 13 to 14? or 12 to 13? Upgrades from year to year have been meh since the iphone 3g.
I did 13PM to 14P and it was NOTICEABLE, cameras, new thermal design, couple more features, I got to say, 48MP sensor is HUGE deal, Huge deal, huge deal

I guess it’s time for Apple to give us the next iPhone X moment, an iPhone that truly looks/feels different from the past few generations.
It would be very easy, iphone 12 thin and 200grama for PM / 160grams for standard Pro and believe me, you'll get 1001% NEW experience with the ultra phone ultra materials and tech, because iphone already has the best tech. only lack is in weight&size,

If apple provides ability to choose FULL ALUMINIUM I GET FULL ALUMINIUM - 2000% less fragile, I remember my 7 - best iphone with "one digit in its name", I COULD NOT destroy it whatever I did to it it would hold and hold and hold, I could not destroy it, I SOLD IT. Glass is a downgrade! More weight and dramatically less robustness, I don't want to charge it wirelessly but Apple imposes their "mag-lol" product that I don't need! Im old fashion aluminium guy

I’ll say it. Going from a 14PM to a 15PM was a waste of my money. Other than being lighter and a different color, there’s no difference in my day.

I'm personally waiting for an iPhone to wow me. Yeah each new year we get "the best iPhone ever". But how long ago was it that an iPhone launch made "the best impression ever" in terms of "wow, I definitely want that"? iPhone X maybe?
I agree. A high quality IR camera, laser illuminator, precision rangefinder, global RF range, wide range Rx in a number of modulations, the freaking sim tray…

iPhone Air please, I’m okay with larger screens to a point, however taking away even more weight would be a game changer for me. My 14 Pro Max is lovely but, it’s a brick.

Also not gimping older products as quickly and having more backward compatibility for things the the 80% charge feature.

Crazy how the camera has become the main feature by which a phone is judged.

Well, I passed on the 15 and really don't want to talk about the 16 yet! And a better camera isn't what I want or need, so they'll have to wow me some other way.

I'll be ready. My XS works well, but looking for an improvement in camera optics since I find myself using the phone to snap photos quite a bit over a traditional camera. Plus, the XS will be cut off from upgrading to iOS 18. Looking at the 16P.

My iPhone 8 is working great. I can play games, take great pics, call grandma, email mistresses, browse the web. 100% battery life with new $30 battery. Life is great with an 8.
Ok I'll bite. If I was still able to be satisfied with with thick bezels, I would get on board with the newest SE. The upgrade is cheap compared to other iPhones. That's why I'm waiting for what I believe the next SE will be: something like the XR/11 but hopefully with OLED and higher refresh rate.

If someone has no phone or is coming from a very old phone, spending well over a grand on a new iPhone is going to really max out each perf/$€£, but me on an Xs cannot see any benefit to a new phone. The bad quality of apps/OS/Siri/integration/user-friendliness is the limitation, not the hardware.

Wasn't the 16 Pro also rumored to not have a dynamic island but instead a punch hole?
That in itself is almost if not a actual reason to skip the iPhone 14/15PM unless you really need a Apple phone now.

That dynamic area is too large and distracting. Just try any modern device with a punch hole and you will know what I mean. I can see that becoming a gimmick in the future just like the TouchBar on the older Macbooks.

I honestly don't get it. If you're going to give us a lighter phone but then make it even bigger the next year, then what is even the point? Pretty sure the added screen size and internals won't come at the same weight as this year. I'm not hearing anyone complain about the current iPhones being small, especially as there's a Max version, so why keep making it bigger?

If they don't give me a foldable next year, I am skipping all iPhones and moving to Samsung or Moto! This is the first year since the original iPhone that I did not upgrade on launch. Apple needs to remember how to innovate and stop giving us basically the same phone for multiple years.

Ugh. Nooooo 😩 I am NOT waiting for or interested in upgrading to a BIGGER phone! I’m waiting for the next Mini.
And cripes, I do not care about the camera. One camera, no bump. PLEASE.

The legislation already passed, there’s just a transition period now until end of 2026 before it becomes mandatory.
I believe there is an exemption that allows for a fixed phone with extended battery life. Probably what the stacked battery is supposed to solve.

  • Wi-Fi 7 support: The iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max will also support Wi-Fi 7, according to Pu. This would enable the devices to send and receive data over the 2.4GHz, 5GHz, and 6GHz bands simultaneously, resulting in faster Wi-Fi speeds, lower latency, and more reliable connectivity. Wi-Fi 7 is expected to offer peak data transfer speeds of over 40 Gbps, a 4× increase over Wi-Fi 6E.
  • 5x optical zoom on Pro model: The iPhone 15 Pro Max's tetraprism lens system with 5x optical zoom will expand to both the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max, according to supply chain analyst Ming-Chi Kuo.

I recently bought WiFi 7 mesh home router system. It really is impressive. I don’t have any WiFi 7 device yet, but the stations communicate over it. I was able to get 1.8 Gbps between nodes that were about 50 ft apart with multiple between them. (I tested by plugging in a laptop using 2.5 GbE to a remote node and running a speed test.)

That and the better camera system on the more reasonably sized model will set me to upgrade from my 13 Pro.
