Bring back the Lightning connector so I don't have to throw all my Lightning stuff in the landfill!
Who has it? How much is it?
If that's all, then it will be the 3rd underwhelming phone on the trot 😡

Below, we recap new features rumored for the iPhone 16 Pro models so far:
iPhone 16 Pro models should launch in September 2024, so there is still plenty of time to go, and additional details will surface over the coming months.
- Larger displays: The iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max will be equipped with larger 6.3-inch and 6.9-inch displays, respectively, according to Ross Young, CEO of Display Supply Chain Consultants. The devices are expected to have taller aspect ratios as part of this change. By comparison, the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max have 6.1-inch and 6.7-inch displays, respectively.
- 48-megapixel Ultra Wide lens: The iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max will feature an upgraded 48-megapixel Ultra Wide camera lens for higher-resolution photos with more detail when shooting in 0.5× mode, according to Jeff Pu, a tech analyst at Hong Kong investment firm Haitong International Securities.
- Wi-Fi 7 support: The iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max will also support Wi-Fi 7, according to Pu. This would enable the devices to send and receive data over the 2.4GHz, 5GHz, and 6GHz bands simultaneously, resulting in faster Wi-Fi speeds, lower latency, and more reliable connectivity. Wi-Fi 7 is expected to offer peak data transfer speeds of over 40 Gbps, a 4× increase over Wi-Fi 6E.
- 5x optical zoom on Pro model: The iPhone 15 Pro Max's tetraprism lens system with 5x optical zoom will expand to both the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max, according to supply chain analyst Ming-Chi Kuo.

Theoretically at the moment, also the satellite Athena will likely produce 10 x the radiation of the normal Athena, which will definitely fry a lot of brains 😏
About $999. Might be because Huawei also designs and fabs their own 5G + satellite modem. Qualcomm should catch up soon.

Interesting. Huawei Mate 60 Pro mentioned in the article is estimated to be maybe about 5 million units short of 14 iPhone 14 Pro Max annual sales, but even if they would have been even, it somehow doesn't feel like real competition, maybe because of the market fragmentation.

Every year is an S year now, which is forgivable and practical in such a mature product line.If that's all, then it will be the 3rd underwhelming phone on the trot 😡
As someone who used a small phone before, coming into the Pro and now using a Pro Max, I can say that you get used to the size. 6.7” feels like the perfect size for me now so don’t be ridiculous, there are plenty of people looking for bigger phones…Even larger screens...great. The 6.1" is already too big. Tablets already exist for people who want massive screens.
Your 15 PM is already yesterday's news lol
I agree 100%…these “S” upgrades for the last few years are Tim Cook’s pony tricks, which I am tired of seeing. I stopped getting the new iPhone every year since the iPhone X.Every year is an S year now, which is forgivable and practical in such a mature product line.
How long this has been the case is a matter of opinion. For me, probably the X was the last seismic shift. Grab a pre X iPhone and those bezels are startling screen off, and hugely limiting screen on. Then again, the 11 Pro was my first iPhone that battery life ceased to be a problem.
It's only the yearly upgraders (of which I used to be amongst many years ago) that ceaselessly attempt to convince themselves and others that THIS years is life changing.
And plenty looking for smaller phones.6.7” feels like the perfect size for me now so don’t be ridiculous, there are plenty of people looking for bigger phones…
Something you may not consider is how parents both old and new, their children both old and new and other people who record stills and videos of key events in their lives always wanting better image quality.I know that. I was just expecting this to change at some point and that we would have entered a new technological paradigm by now.
