Are you skipping the iPhone 15 Pro and waiting another year to upgrade? If so, we already have some iPhone 16 Pro rumors for you.

Below, we recap new features rumored for the iPhone 16 Pro models so far:
  • Larger displays: The iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max will be equipped with larger 6.3-inch and 6.9-inch displays, respectively, according to Ross Young, CEO of Display Supply Chain Consultants. The devices are expected to have taller aspect ratios as part of this change. By comparison, the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max have 6.1-inch and 6.7-inch displays, respectively.
  • 48-megapixel Ultra Wide lens: The iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max will feature an upgraded 48-megapixel Ultra Wide camera lens for higher-resolution photos with more detail when shooting in 0.5× mode, according to Jeff Pu, a tech analyst at Hong Kong investment firm Haitong International Securities.
  • Wi-Fi 7 support: The iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max will also support Wi-Fi 7, according to Pu. This would enable the devices to send and receive data over the 2.4GHz, 5GHz, and 6GHz bands simultaneously, resulting in faster Wi-Fi speeds, lower latency, and more reliable connectivity. Wi-Fi 7 is expected to offer peak data transfer speeds of over 40 Gbps, a 4× increase over Wi-Fi 6E.
  • 5x optical zoom on Pro model: The iPhone 15 Pro Max's tetraprism lens system with 5x optical zoom will expand to both the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max, according to supply chain analyst Ming-Chi Kuo.
iPhone 16 Pro models should launch in September 2024, so there is still plenty of time to go, and additional details will surface over the coming months.

If that's all, then it will be the 3rd underwhelming phone on the trot 😡

I hope my 11pro holds out to at least the 16pro. But I am concerned about it getting even larger.

I would love to get back to no camera bump...

iPhone 16 Pro Max will come with a USB-C 2.1 cable next year!

If there’s no significant changes, I may hold onto my 14PM till 2025.

Any one else getting tired of Tim Cook’s pony tricks every year?

Slightly better camera, new chipset, same battery life as the year before, and only one main change (2023 action button, 2022 dynamic island)

Theoretically at the moment, also the satellite Athena will likely produce 10 x the radiation of the normal Athena, which will definitely fry a lot of brains 😏

It’s called a speakerphone, baby!

I have 12 pro and really wanted that new camera from the 15 pro max, so will hold off to see if 16 pro gets that and hopefully better battery life.

About $999. Might be because Huawei also designs and fabs their own 5G + satellite modem. Qualcomm should catch up soon.
Interesting. Huawei Mate 60 Pro mentioned in the article is estimated to be maybe about 5 million units short of 14 iPhone 14 Pro Max annual sales, but even if they would have been even, it somehow doesn't feel like real competition, maybe because of the market fragmentation.

For those wanting a larger display, next year's iPhone Pro and Pro Max models might be larger.

I like the 15PM however I think the overall design could use a change. It would be good if the 16PM would ditch the dynamic island for good, but I am not confident that will happen.
Any upgrades to the camera are always welcome in my opinion! I do not have a dedicated camera, so all my photos and memories are created with the iPhone, that is why I love it so much 🤗

@JPack bigger sizes should help with the battery . matter of fact it may bring the leaked/rumored 37xx mah , since 6.3 could fit it . even if n3e and a18p cores don't bring better efficiecny, it should have better (much better?) battery than the 14/15 pro. now about the size and weight....idk . i already can't reach the edges one handed so maybe 6.3 with 20:9 won't be that bad ?

for now I'm trying a 15 pro and the battery is decent. still unsure whether i should wait for next year's iteration which might have its own set of issues, namely...weight and height

Every year is an S year now, which is forgivable and practical in such a mature product line.

How long this has been the case is a matter of opinion. For me, probably the X was the last seismic shift. Grab a pre X iPhone and those bezels are startling screen off, and hugely limiting screen on. Then again, the 11 Pro was my first iPhone that battery life ceased to be a problem.

It's only the yearly upgraders (of which I used to be amongst many years ago) that ceaselessly attempt to convince themselves and others that THIS years is life changing.

Will wait for apple Foldable rumours to surface as I’m sure they are working on something similar but with a diff twist on it.

Even larger screens...great. The 6.1" is already too big. Tablets already exist for people who want massive screens.
As someone who used a small phone before, coming into the Pro and now using a Pro Max, I can say that you get used to the size. 6.7” feels like the perfect size for me now so don’t be ridiculous, there are plenty of people looking for bigger phones…

I agree 100%…these “S” upgrades for the last few years are Tim Cook’s pony tricks, which I am tired of seeing. I stopped getting the new iPhone every year since the iPhone X.

The typical blueprint since 2016: minor camera upgrade, new chipset, same or slightly better battery life as the year before, and one (sometimes two) “main” change, i.e. 15P/PM action button (not counting USB-C due to EU mandate), 14P/PM Dynamic Island, 13P/PM 120hz ProMotion…etc.

I now find it comical every year we hear “the best ever” coming out of each speaker’s mouth for minor upgrades.

I’m very happy we’re getting 6.3” because 6.1” is not big enough and 6.7” is too big for me.

My pixel 7 is 6.3” and it’s fantastic and the sweet spot, so I’m glad I don’t need to go max for a larger display.

I know that. I was just expecting this to change at some point and that we would have entered a new technological paradigm by now.
Something you may not consider is how parents both old and new, their children both old and new and other people who record stills and videos of key events in their lives always wanting better image quality.

I am very thankful that my mother's dad bought her a Leica MD-2 with a 35/1.4 and 50/1.4 in the late 70s when she got married. That recorded the 1st 2 decades of her young family's life.

Image quality would rival EF L lenses 3 decades later.

Something like that is occurring with smartphones too. People want better image quality of bygone era.

Every time their telco contract ends they get pushed a new iPhone that they pay over 24/36/48 months. This is what killed digital cameras. When buying a Canon, Nikon, Sony and even Leica you gotta "pull" the camera and pay up front or up over 12 months. No camera company offers 24/36/48 months zero interest rate.

Not to mention the utility of digital cameras are up to it being a camera and not being the "swiss army knife" of the past 16 years.

I have seen photos taken by Hasselblads medium formats recorded within 50 years prior to the Leica and I am thankful someone in my mom's family cared enough to buy the very best.

I am satisfied with the iPhone but I am thinking of getting 100 megapixel FujiFilm GFX 100 II medium format camera. Image quality is epic. Very useful for people photography that are worth the expense.
