can't say i miss flash on my phone, either. if it did more than video i'd get it.

Looks cool but it strikes me as something that the media will care more about than actual iOS users will care.

It sure sounds like a big story but this is really more of a "it'll be useful every now and then" kind of app. I might buy it for fun but I won't be e-mailing my non-techie iPhone-owning friends to tell them about it.

$2.99? No thanks.

You Tube (which I rarely use on my mobile) works fine already. The only time I miss Flash is the on the rare occasion I'm at a resturant site (or some such) and the main page and/or menu is in Flash. Will it even work with this?

Anyone who used skyfire on droid knows its worth. 3 bucks is NOTHING compared to how awesome it is.

It will replace my safari.

Agreed. I used it YEARS ago on Windows Mobile, back when Microsoft had no idea about how to write a mobile browser. It will be on my i devices day of release.

i will be buying it, finally will be able to watch all the videos on the bbc website and 4od via youtube

Good. Though I don't think this is something Steve likes, for iOS users to be able to get so many videos so easily. Also some people might hate that they have to pay just to watch flash video. It complicates things.

I miss Flash so much that it is one of the main reasons why I boycott all iDevices.

Web without Flash is not the web... It's crippled pile of crap SJ wants me to browse and not much to do with what I want to browse...

SkyFire sounds good but it is nowhere near enough to fill the huge web gap on intentionally crippled iOS devices.

Omg the youtube video is horrible, he talks 3min about bullsh0t instead of just show what everyone want to see, how it play the flash video, what a fail...

AirPlay?

Will it support AirPlay? Will we be able to stream Flash videos to iPhone then to Apple TV with AirPlay?

This is THE question!

Second one...what about quality of the videos?

I hope it works better than their demo video. I thnk they added all those extra features so you could be distracted while the video loads. If it's not near instant on, it's a not go for me.

That is awesome .. video is basically the only flash application I miss on the iPhone .. to often that news story links to a video, that is not accessible then .. kind of annoying. Sounds like a great deal to me .

T.

Big question is.... what will performance be like

No expert here... but just seems like performance might be an issue... every site I go to, if it has to route the link back to these guys, they convert the video, even if its on the fly, and send it back to my app... just seems like it would take a while for that whole process to work...

Maybe they've figured out some cool tricks to make this work well.... but like several others... I haven't missed Flash enough to spend $3 on something that "might work OK"...

will the app be universal? would be nice if it worked on both the ipad/iphone, or will we have to shell out on a skyfire "hd" version for the ipad

So does this mean I can watch Hulu without paying the dumb monthly?

No! Mark my words, Hulu will block this just like they blocked my PS3 browser :(

They want you to pay if you're not sitting down watching it on a computer!
