i still think it feels different. i can't turn upt he pressure high enough for it to feel the same. perhaps, if they add more settings.

Ahhh. Yeah, I can see that that might be a problem. I like it because I always felt like I had to hammer the diving board version!

I never actually press down and click anyway for anything other than drag&drop. I doubt I would even notice the difference. I only ever tab it for clicking. Actually clicking is way to much work and makes that annoying sound too.:)

I use tap to click on my 2011-13 trackpads. With haptic feedback I've temporarily turned tap off, at least until I adapt more to its lighter touch. I have click turned all the way down to light.

Otoh the trackpads I've tried at the Applestore recently, seem to all have a lighter touch than what I have at home, so ymmv.

So you think they'd do that even in the pros? Get rid of everything and put in usb-c. Wouldn't that kind of remove from its pro element?
Of course they'll remove usb ports and replace with usb-c at some point, and sooner rather than later. You're arguing against it as people argued before against removing the DVD drive... "what am I going to do now? I need to play my CDs, my life will come to an end! oh!"... just get over it and move on.
