Skype for iPad Launches in U.S. and Internationally [Updated x3]

WHY THE HELL is it so hard to find this app in the store?

I've tried all the suggestions above but I can't find it.
 
I thought my post above was pretty clear? But, yeah, Skype just pulled the app everywhere. It is no longer there.

Because it's not there.

It appears to have been removed.

The icon was there, but it wouldn't let me download, and now SKype has informed that it's gone again.
 
Strange how companies like Facebook and Skype still haven't come out with iPad apps.
 
It does not show up in the app store and when I click on the link, it says not available in the US.
 
Searched: Skype for iPad

Had to click on "Show All", and found it in the middle.

When clicking, it says: "Your request cannot be completed. The item you've requested is not currently available in the US store."

Then I noticed in the Release date: August 2nd, 2011.

It's still the 1st here in California. I'm assuming that the people here in the States should be able to get it in a few hours or sometime tomorrow.
 
I found Skype for iPad in Japan Store but it was not available.
However, I could buy it by pushing buy button on search result.
Not on detail page.
Try it, guys.

Yup, this works for me too.

Clicking on "free" in the search results page starts the download. I wonder if it's ready for prime time, though.
 
Aaaaand, there it goes.

As soon as I downloaded it, it now no longer appears in the search results.
 
Got it from UK store.

It is curious that the release notes apparently make reference to iPhone features when this is supposed to be an iPad only app...
 
Prematurely. Hah, and I remember people bashing Apple's review process for 'taking so long'.

Freaking A! I knew that I should have downloaded this earlier today when I saw the post on Engadget. I'm about to go abroad to Germany and Italy on the 12th and would absolutely love to have a real Skype app on the iPad. I also would have loved to have am iPad 2 for the FFC, but audio isn't horrible, of course. Ah, well, I guess the waiting game we'll continue to play.
 
I find it preposterous how Skype screwed up royally the UI on the Mac and now does not even bother to correct their mistake! :mad::mad::mad::mad:
 
I'm a little lost here. Why is Skype popular? Doesn't FaceTime do the same thing (video calls)? And, if I already have an iPhone in my backpack why do I need another app to take calls?
