Its a right pain in the arse, I've only just started using Skype as a necessity. I don't want to have to go and restore just for that. I'm enjoying my Nexus One Live Wallpaper :(

What do you guys your Skype for?

I use my Skype to call my family overseas to their mobilephone/landline. I do have their Worldwide plan for like 13 bucks or so. What I usually do is to call my Skype to go access number and they can connect me to my family that way. You do get charged for your local minutes, however....

I thought this Skype app + multitasking will make me use less of that but I guess for now, I can't use it yet :(

I hope someone is looking to fix this though....

If you don't mind having most of your apps run in background, you can download Backgrounder... For the most part it works but sometimes it forces app to run on background when it's not supposed to (eg: Meebo only needs Push Notification but if you have Backgrounder, it will run on the background anyway)

OMG i just saw... Mobile Substrate 0.9.3226-1!!!!!

Edit: Yes it fixes Skype

AMEN!!!!
How do I get this?

I only jailbroke an hour ago on my iphone 4 hence has it automatically been updated in the actual jailbreak. I cannot see any updates for this in my Cydia.

My Skype seems to remain logged in when I am on standby so I guess I am OK and Cydia has been updated with this??

If you're able to exit Skype and open it back up without having to re-load and re-sign in, you've got the new version already. ;)

Mine still makes me sign in and send me to the blank contact screen each time I load the application...

Hopefully this was only part 1 of his fix.

Why am I never able to find mobilesubstrate in Cydia? I don't see it listed in my list of installed packages and I can't find it when I search. What the heck am I doing wrong?

Press on "Changes" in cydia, it should list the update.

I have the updated version. The problem is that I didn't realize you had to switch to expert mode when you're in the manage packages screen in order to see mobilesubstrate.

updated... reinstalled... didnt work.
what else are you running, i tried uninstalling everything, but did not do a fresh restore yet, so maybe we can narrow down the item breaking it (if there is one).

I am running:
SBSettings (w/ Activator)
Veency
SpringFlash
PDF Exploit Patch
MyWi
My3g

Could be either of them. Both don't use mobilesubstrate like they should, instead using their own injection methods that interfere with mobilesubstrate.
