The power drain is teeny weeny though, I can leave it asleep for 12 hrs and it drains 2%.

Haha!

I know someone who still does the full battery thing with his mbp, bought the same week as me in late '08. His battery health is about 70%/500 cycles. I charge mine with zero special methods, 92%...500 cycles, heh.

I used to be pretty anal about my iPhone battery until the beginning of this year and now don't use the percentage indicator anymore and plug it in every night It holds a charge as good or better as during the anal days. Makes you wonder sometimes. :D

I shutdown my macbook at the end of the day. Just used to it I guess:D If I won't be using it for more than 12 hours, I shut down. if less than then that's when I sleep

Same here. Usually turn it off when I go to bed, but sometimes I leave it in sleep mode even at night.

Before I got this MBA, I put my Mac Mini to sleep every night. But the MBA boots so fast I just shut it down.

That's basically the same for me. I shut it down at night, let it sleep during the day. No use in adding un-needed battery cycles to the count.

My wife instinctively put hers to sleep. It's like an iPad, just turn it on and pick up where you left off.

I decided to get a used 13" Pro, even with the hard drive, wake from sleep is still really fast. Not instant fast like the Air but close enough. Booting up however is much slower. I can't wait to throw an SSD into my Pro.

I rarely shut down my machines, basicly because of my work. I do development stuff and I'm to lazy start up all my programs again and search for my files and folders :p I just want to be ready to go! When I'm ready with a project though, or know that I won't be developing for more then 24 hours, I shut it down.

i sleep most of the time. If i have been using it in bed, ill shut it down as obviously i wont be using through the night, but that is about it.
I have a friend who turns everything off. Found out at the weekend that he does a full shutdown everytime he puts his iPad down

Sleep with the odd shut down thrown in once a week just to clear the cache (or is that a windows thing?)

I've only switched to Mac a few months ago... have been using Windows forever so I am still trying to get used to using Sleep instead of Shut Down. In the end, both are Ok ( especially since the notebooks come with SSD ).

Sleep, but the 2012 model boots so fast that I sometimes shut down when I normally wouldn't.

Sleep during the day and off at night. I've found weirdness will occasionally appear on any electronic device if it's never shut down ... like it needs a "rest". Also, when restarted, it has a chance to troubleshoot and freshen the overall ops.
