I have an iphone 5 with apple care and the sleep/wake button has become unresponsive. Only the left side of the button works. I don't have an apple store near me so what are my options and what do apple do in these situations? Preferably I'd want it repaired or will they want me to send it to them and they send me back a refurbished one? If they were to repair the button how long do they take?

Thanks

i swear to god, no one searches anymore. there are tons of threads on this. Apple will replace it with a new white box replacement device. If you don't have a store near you, you can go online and request to send it in for replacement. That should take a few days. Here are a few of the dozens of threads on this already where your exact problem and possible solutions have already been covered and beaten to death. My suggestion would be to goto the closest apple store, even if its a hike just to have it replaced the same day. But that's up to you. I had mine replaced in 15 minutes by them.
