Aw don't worry man (you're a man b/c you can't cry) just keep acting normal and don't let it get to you...if she didn't actually say "nothing more, ever." then don't worry about it, she just might not be looking for anything like that right now.

The important thing to do is just remain her friend and don't act weird or anything b/c she will then think you were only her friend to start with for one thing

She did. Those weren't her exact words, it was something like "nothing more than friends now, or in the future."

We are and will continue to be friends, she and I both know that we were friends to begin with and will continue to be. She knows I was not just trying to suck up to her.

Well, she is very good with slinkies. She actually got them to go down several stairs, I was quite impressed.

And we had a long talk walking around campus. And she says she feels like this is supposed to be a friendship, and nothing more, ever. Needless to say, today I feel a little distraught. I am very glad I don't have finals because I'm a little bit of an emotional wreck right now. I can't think straight, I can't make up my mind to do anything. I can't even cry. I just want today to be over with. I really care about this girl...

The slinky date was a success only because we got the slinky to go down the stairs. Unfortunately, my hopes went down with it.

I would call it a success because you got her to go with you, and she played with slinkies. I think there aren't many guys who could suggest and carry through on a date like that, so good for you anyway. She'll remember you as her most original date, evar.
