Mine does the same too
When waking from sleep, the courses freezes for few seconds then starts moving again.
That's not a really big issue for me since it doesn't take much time. The main problem is why the animations are laggy.
Also, some times pinch to zoom doesn't work in Safari :(

Just thought I'd chime in to say that I've been having the same problem. My MBA is only about two days old, so this is quite disappointing.

Has anyone else noticed their MBA is slow (comparatively) to wake from sleep? It doesn't take long for the display to come back, but there's always a moment or two where my cursor won't move.

At present, I don't have the lagging in Mission Control. However, my 13" does wake slower than my, since sold, 11" air did. Also, once awakened, the cursor does not immediately respond. For me, these are not worries.

Heh, a restart actually fixed the animation problem (for now), but the "slow" wake-up is still a bit annoying. It isn't a hindrance to work or anything important, but it's a feature I want to work as I've been shown.

I e-mailed Apple about the problem and they responded by giving me a case number and a phone number to call between Monday-Friday. Good customer support.

My experience with Apple products have always been great(iPad and iPhone) but with MBA,it's been a disappointment :(
I discovered more bugs as well such as the mail app doesn't quite most of the time and I have to force quit it;also,in Safari, the "X" button for tabs occasionally disappears and I can't close a tab.
and it seems 10.7.2 is going to be about iCloud and no bug fixes

This is a 'me too' reply. MBA 13 (7/2011) i5. Woke up this morning and saw the update for TB/EFI. Did it - restarted and now Mission Control has noticeable chop to it. Started working on a few things for work but when I get to a stopping point I'm going to shutdown and cold boot to see what that does. I'll certainly keep an eye on this thread.

Just wanted to let OP and folks know they aren't alone - this is a real issue for some of us.

'pinch to zoom' routinely stops working after i've had safari running for a day or two... 'two finger double tap to zoom' is unaffected... restarting safari fixes the problem, temporarily...

Yep restarting Safari fixes it but I usually have lots of tabs opened,so it's kinda annoying to restart it occasionally

So,what do you guys recommend ? :(
Do you think 10.7.2 or future updates will take care of these problems ?

Hi there guys!

I have exactly the same problems with my new i5 13" MBA, the issue was caused by the thunderbolt update, as i have installed the EFI update first, and everything was fine after that, 1 day later i installed the TB update and the dock magnification animation and the mission control animations became choppy :( and i have some bad news: the problem still exists after updating to the fresh 10.7.2 beta.

i think that they have messed up something with the Intel HD 3000 GPU drivers (TB update had a new driver for this GPU)

I frankly dont trust any updates from Apple at this point. I am on baseline lion a will remain there until sufficient positive posts appear on this site.

I am having the same issue. I restarted and it was smooth, but the second I opened a few apps, switching between them with four fingers gesture became laggy again. This is annoying.

I'm wondering if this is something power management related. I.e. a tweak in the driver to squeeze out some more battery. More PM == slightly less performance == possible choppy graphics.

I opened an official case with Apple on this. It's getting escalated to engineering. I will post any updates I get here.

i have EXACTLY the same problems with my MBA 13' i5..... i postet it already in the official Apple Forum...

After the update, these bug became VERY annoying.... my solution without creating a new user (logging in into a freshly made user in OSX --> the choppy graphics are gone) is to new install Lion with the Recovery Partition.... it only replaces the System-Files.... all personal-data aren't touched by Lion-Recovery

Well if a 'fix' is using another user account - there has to be something in the primary users home directory or somewhere than can be deleted/changed/reverted/etc. Migrating everything to a different user is not a workable solution for most, and IMHO overkill.

Also - I *think* I saw someone else mention this - but heavy disk IO actually seems to HELP the issue. As a test I connected an external USB HDD and ran md5/shasum on a bunch of huge isos and videos. While this was running - the choppiness in MC seemed to disappear. As soon as I control-c'ed out of it - the choppiness was right back.

Haven't tried re-installing Lion but making another account didn't help

Hmmm..... it works on my Macbook but is not a practical solution because of the personal data

I noticed the same thing..... maybe it let Lion overclock the CPU and in parallel the Intel HD, which will make the graphics being smooth .... but the "Dock-magnifying-effect" should not be as much performance pulling as the "Change-Space-effect", which is completely smooth.....

The engineering department is calling me tomorrow to hopefully resolve this issue. I'll post details.
