Greetings.

So I installed Sequoia on Mac Studio with M2 Max and immediately noticed that after I type user password after reboot, it takes ridiculous amount of time to load. To be precise, after I reboot, it takes 9 seconds for login screen to appear, and after I type password, it takes other 20 seconds to show desktop. So total of around 30. I used iOS stopwatch to measure excluding me typing password. It's my fourth Mac I do not remember any OS being THAT slow on any of them. In fact, Monterey was up in 13 secs on 2017 iMac I had before.

I have FileVault enabled and same set of apps I had on Sonoma without any antivirus. I tried disabling background items and do not have login items. Strong feeling it's the OS.

Anybody else has measurements or suggestions on how to improve this?

Seems to be fixed in macOS 15.1. After update, preboot before login is same 10 but after login, it takes 6-7 seconds to reach desktop now.

I see this topic isn't closed yet, hence my reply to this. If i need to start a new topic, please let me know.

I have an Apple Macbook Pro (M2 MAX) and i am experiencing the exact same issue as the topicstarter.
Macbook Pro M2 MAX
macOS: Sequoia 15.5
I have Filevault turned on (company-policy) and no option to turn it off. My Macbook is managed bij JAMF but my colleagues are not experiencing this issue.
Since i updated from 15.4 to 15.5 the issue started for me.
In total, when i move my mouse or press a key on my keyboard when my screensaver is active, i have to wait about 30 seconds before i see my desktop so its exactly as the topicstarter experienced. Only my macOS version is newer.
I have no external disks connected to my laptop. Only my Monitor through USB-C.
My macbook normally logs in using my Apple Watch. I also tried disconnecting my Apple Watch but that does not fix it. The "wait" time stays exactly thesame.

Checkdisk (First Aid) will not resolve it. The only apps that i have in my startup-items are: Dynamic wallpaper, Google Drive and Passwords. The apps that are allowed to check in the backgrounds for updates and such are:
1Password
Adobe Creative Cloud
Guillaume Louel - Airial screensaver
Google Updater
I have not tried reinstalling my macbook yet, i was hoping someone knows about this issue.
