Is there a way to change the fps flag on the 120 fps Quicktime file to 30 fps so it can play in slomo in Quicktime? Cinema Tools (part of Final Cut Studio) was able to do this with the Conform feature, but I think it only recognizes 23.98, 24, 25, and 29.97 frame rates, not 120 fps.

Found a way using Atom Inspector as described in this article:

http://blog.mingletron.com/2012/08/changing-frame-rate-of-quicktime-movie.html

Although the numbers in that article differ for what works for iPhone 5s slomo quicktimes -- I changed the timescale from 600 to 150. Plays slomo in Quicktime in slomo.

Seems that when I send a slowmo vid to someone via iMessage it plays in slowmo for them but not for me (when clicking on the video in the message window)....i tried uploading one to Instagram....it was a direct shot of a soccer ball with my daughter coming in from the left kicking it.....the image stays on the soccer ball, you hear her kicking the ball but there is never ANY video.

Same video, I shared via AirDrop to my daughters 5th gen iPod (ios7)....she took it from her Camera Roll and uploaded to Instagram....perfect slow mo video....makes no sense.

It lost the slow mo when I tried opening the slow mo vid on the iMovie app in the phone.

Erm...

Great feature, poorly executed. I mean, you have to use these work arounds to allow others to see it in slo mo. Sucks

There is absolutely zero excuse for my video not transferring in slow mo to iPhoto when I plug my phone into my computer. I would call that a bug. If it was purposeful then it is stupid.

I'm having trouble AirDropping the slow mo videos to an iPhone 5 (tried 2 different ones). I am able to send it via iMessage though. Not sure why AirDrop is freaking out on me.

It is very strange.

I can take a slow mo video and send it to my friends who have 4S and 5 and they claim that it is slow motion when they view it, but when I look at it in my message it looks normal speed. looks like apple has a few things to iron out..

Having the same issue. Seems like a major oversight on Apple's part. Even if you open a "slow motion" video on the iPhone 5s in iMovie, it plays as a regular speed video. Doesn't make sense and a bit frustrating, which is why it seems like an oversight.

Same goes (as you've all pointed out) if you try to upload into iMovie or iPhoto on a Mac.

I made a free app that solves the problem everyone has in this thread. It lets you use your slo-mo videos in Instagram, import them to your computer, etc.

It's called TruSloMo and people love it on reddit.

I hate it when people spam forums so I hope none of you are offended by this. Just wanted to point out an actual solution to a problem that I experienced myself.

p.s. There's a nasty bug where TruSloMo doesn't currently work on international versions of the iPhone 5S. I've already submitted a new build to Apple that (fingers-crossed) should be out by early next week.

Thanks for making this... What is weird is that yesterday my slo motion videos were working when I text to other people but today however it isn't working... I tried your app and it works well. Thanks.

Download truslomo app and you will able to post your slomo videos with little ease.

Hopefully you meant "with ease" or "little effort" :p

Also, there should be an update to TruSloMo released this week that allows users to choose the start/stop slo-mo points and add multiple slo-mo parts within one video :)

Awesome! Thank you!
