Ok, so I just found the settings that lets you turn all that off. Cool.
Is there a way to change the fps flag on the 120 fps Quicktime file to 30 fps so it can play in slomo in Quicktime? Cinema Tools (part of Final Cut Studio) was able to do this with the Conform feature, but I think it only recognizes 23.98, 24, 25, and 29.97 frame rates, not 120 fps.
Settings to turn what off?
HAS to be a bug. No way it's supposed to work like this.
Agreed.
^^^ thisYes, has to be exported from the share sheet to show in slow mo.

Here's a MacWorld article that explains it in more detail:
How to post iPhone 5s Slo-Mo videos to Instagram and elsewhere
If it's TR;DL, just check out the second heading ("Why slo-mo wont upload").
Great feature, poorly executed. I mean, you have to use these work arounds to allow others to see it in slo mo. Sucks
I made a free app that solves the problem everyone has in this thread. It lets you use your slo-mo videos in Instagram, import them to your computer, etc.
It's called TruSloMo and people love it on reddit.
I hate it when people spam forums so I hope none of you are offended by this. Just wanted to point out an actual solution to a problem that I experienced myself.
p.s. There's a nasty bug where TruSloMo doesn't currently work on international versions of the iPhone 5S. I've already submitted a new build to Apple that (fingers-crossed) should be out by early next week.
So check this out...... you have to send to another device via iMessage/AirDrop to preserve HD quality and upload to Instagram? Who's bright idea was that?

Download truslomo app and you will able to post your slomo videos with little ease.
Hopefully you meant "with ease" or "little effort"
Also, there should be an update to TruSloMo released this week that allows users to choose the start/stop slo-mo points and add multiple slo-mo parts within one video![]()
