Some Apps may be to blame

I upgraded from SL to Lion and saw the slow shutdowns being reported. After uninstalling Fan Control and Techtools Pro 6 the shutdown returned to the normal 2-3 seconds. Look for applications that you installed that hav'nt been updated to support lion.

As somebody switching from Windows to Mac OS X a few times a day this can be VERY annoying! Not cool Apple!

It is not the Apple software causing the problem - it is the other programs that don't transfer correctly. I think it was actually MS Office 2011.

Normal system boot and shutdown off my SSD, but Lion Mail takes FOREVER to shutdown...
