Few people like to see their Macs or cars get scratched. It is an unfortunate reality, though, that both will probably get scratched with time.

I think this bothers younger owners disproportionately more, though. As you get old, you start to realize that nothing is forever.

It's not all about "speed," you know! Especially the fact that you're buying a Mac shows that you're not too interested in extreme performance. Do you want to drive in a keyed car???

That's not necessarily true.

Performance is what makes Mac OSX great, and sincerely, some of the things done in Mac OSX just can't be done on another OS, so if I'm buying a Mac, it's simply because I can't do something that only Mac OSX does.

For instance, I can't pinch to zoom in just about any document... on any laptop. Such a thing is only available on a Macbook.

My 15" MBP is a week old and I once put it down on top of a case and moved it around, and the zipper thing scratched the bottom leaving some tiny scratches. I imagine they're probably very easy to remove but how would I go about doing it? I've seen lots of threads about this but most of them were for scratches on the MBP screen. What about the actual aluminum surface?

Well yeah.. I know what you mean and I feel you. I felt the same as you when I first noticed scratches on my MBP but there is really nothing else's for you to do about it since scratches on aluminium surfaces are permanent.

If it's really bothering you 'thaaat' much, purchase some stickers (not joking here, stickers 'for MBP') or a body shell to cover it up.

Anyway dude, man up already. All of our MBP have scratches (well majority...) so just get over it, look at the scratches/dents as some sort of 'war-scar' or 'identity' to your MBP, maybe that might help =]

in time ur maac will get wear and tear

for example

i bet ur black rubber feet on ur mac is already worn a little from just sitting right?

in 2 or 3 years from now, you'll be in the market for anew compputer anyway so try to enjoy ur tool, not ur baby LOL

If you want to say false you might as well offer an explanation.

Anyway, the idea came to me, maybe I might be able to buy just the bottom cover? Could I do that? I couldn't find a parts section on Apple's website; do they sell parts? Also, yes, the rubber feet are worn but I can easily replace those every six months or so.

Now scratch your initials beside the markings, that way no one will steal your macbook. :D
