Went by the apple store today to buy the new 11 Pro Max, seemed fine when the employee took it out of the box to show it to me. I asked to get a screen protector applied so they did just that. They had to apply 3 different protectors onto the phone since dust kept getting under the screen. They told me their current batch of screen protectors have something wrong with them so that's why the dust kept getting there, they finally managed to get it on properly with no dust on the 3rd try. Once I got home and took a better look at the phone, I noticed that there is a very tiny line scratch right above the bottom left corner of the phone. Specifically on the what seems to be aluminium beside the black bezel. Wondering if it is worth going back to the store to get them to do anything about it (would they?), I believe it was accidentally scratched by the apple employee putting on the protectors with the mount they use or from the box. I can for sure say I didn't do anything to the phone part from putting on my otterbox case which couldn't have had anything to create that tiny scratch.

Does your car have any small dings and/or scratches? Did you take it back to the dealer?

You must have never owned a car. They do get scratched over time. So do these small computers we carry for communicating. If it didn't have this small scratch, it surely would acquire one during the time you own it.

Good point.

That said, Apple is pretty good about replacing devices. I would keep it. But if you absolutely cannot stand it, they'll probably replace it for you. Others will disagree with me. But it seems that many people obsess over Apple products like none other.

Alright, I guess I'll see. Doesn't kill to go and at least ask them.

In the future, look over your purchase very carefully before leaving. Of Apple says no, you can’t really blame them.
That's true, I had some looks at the store but not as in detail as I did at home. That's completely understandable on my part and my mistake. If I do get a replacement when I ask, I'm not leaving the store until I have checked the phone completely.

I did get a screen protector, so if I do get a replacement are they still able to put on another without extra charge? I did purchase the protector with warranty.

They should be able to.

Apple has a generous 14 day return policy so you don’t need a reason. If it bothers you take it back and get another. But the phone lottery game is a dangerous one. Any mass produced item can have issues. In general it’s best not to be overly critical.

You thought enough about it to post here, go back nd get a replacement

I see it as "I get to put the scratches on my phone"
That's exactly my point, the fact that the scratch came from the factory or possibly an apple employee annoys me. If I was the one that damaged the phone in anyway I would for sure take ownership for that.

Thing is... you really should inspect before leaving the store..

Yeah no doubt about it, if I do get a replacement I will for sure be checking over every detail on it. Have bought Apple products for years so thought I could trust them with the quality so I did a few quick looks. Clearly that wasn’t enough, learned my lesson this time.

Dude.
Get AppleCare +. Enjoy and use the hell out of the phone.
You’ll spend less time obsessing over things like a scratch.

I took my phone Scuba Diving at about 35 feet for 30 minutes. It sucked when I came back to the surface because it was dead, but....I got a replacement that looks brand new with a 100% capacity battery.

Trust me. It’s liberating to just enjoy these pocket devices.
