Smart Case or Smart Cover?

I have the cover and like that it will shut down the iPad and will support it for typing or viewing. However I did not like that it left the back exposed. So I bought the Belkin Snap Shield. The combination worked Ok but the cover would easily fall off and the Snap Shield cracked at the corners and bits dropped off ( I had this problem with two of these things ).
I bought the cover but did not like the feel of the material, the gaps around the edges ( the iPad does not move around inside even though it is not a good fit ), the edges and that the top lid fits a little inside the bottom part and I saw that in time the corner would become frayed. So I returned it.
I am now waiting for delivery of a Switcheasy Canvas

I have the exact same case - green - and it is indeed a tight fit. Maybe it has to do with the colours?
With my ipad 2 i had a black leather smart cover and a black carbon skin from icarbons.. I really liked it !
Now on my ipad 3 i have only a smart cover but i think i ll need something for the back as well.
I just think that now only a back skin wont be enough because i ll let also m little daughter use it and she is too yoong to treat it with care
I realy dont know what to buy, mayb i ll even drop the smart cover and buy a full case off ebay .
Any suggestions?

Im very fussy about my gadgets and after looking through many products I finally settled on a Belkin Snap shield for the back and a smart cover for the front.

That looks very similar to the Incipio Smart Feather that I got. I love having the Smart Feather, I'm not jealous of the Smart Case that came out a few days later AT ALL. I love having the black Smart Feather on the back, and the black leather Smart Cover up front, they work great together, and I feel like I get decent scratch protection while not making the iPad bulky.

My Switch Easy Canvas case arrived today and it is so superior to the Apple Smart CAse, Smart Cover and Belkin Snap Shield all of which I have tried.
The fit is excellent, the materials used look very smart, it feels very stable when used in a viewing or typing position and from B & H it is less expensive than the Apple. In addition it comes with a screen protector and covers for the headphone port and dock connector.

I got the smart cover. But now, I'm thinking of buying a cover for the back, similar to the Belkin one that someone posted. I don't think I'll ever need a case for this one. Smart Cover is perfect for iPad because it doesnt add fulk and it's functional.
