Smart Cover photos here

I really like my Smart Cover. It's a cover, a typing stand, and an upright stand all in one. I also like that it adds a little bit of thickness to the iPad 2 so you can use it with many iPad 1 cases (I use mine with a Waterfield Ultimate Sleeve Case and it fits nice and snug).

My only complaint is that, when new, the cover has a lot of excess lint on it. A couple swipes of the lint brush took care of that, though.

how is the grip with it? does it feel like it would come off or the ipad would slip out of your hand?

Are you not seeing my photos on page 1? I show it folded in half and wrapped around back. That's my preferred method. Completely open and folded around back it's a little wonky to hold.

Over time, I think this might damage the smart cover. I used mine this way for a short while, after which an obvious crease began to show in the middle of the cover (which hasn't yet disappeared).

My opinion of the smart cover is that it is an OK sacrifice if you value its stand functionality, which is truly excellent. If not, it is probably more of a bother than the limited protection it offers is worth.

how is it to hold it with one hand that way?

i still have a week before release here in canada, hoping a better design would come out that looks and work the same. full coverage, using magnets to lock screen, etc.

I took that on launch day. I will post what you asked for when I get home. I don't fold it all the way around. Reason..that makes the surface that now covers the screen sit on tables and surfaces that may be dirty and when I flip it back over...that touches my screen. Therefore, I just take it off.

Agreed the poly covers look much different in person. The blue isn't quite as brilliant as the web shots, and I thought the orange was the best out of the poly covers... It turn out that in person I thought the orange looked gross.

I bought the cream leather cover with a black iPad2.
