ok so another interesting thing... I just reset my mac again and have been browsing the forum when i noticed that for the first time "GPU Diode (Analog)" the one thats always there and super hot, is not even on the list now. its always been there and green or red. but now its totally gone, not even there with an N/A. I am getting the impression i either have an sensor issue with that one, or this is a big bug in the app with the 2010 MBP.

Why don't you just use smcfancontrol as in the thread title. It only cares about cpu temps and not about what the GPU analog sensor does.

Ok guys, I am back on smcfancontrol again... That GPU issue w/ TG Pro was just too much for me. I sent a lot of info, screen shots, code, etc to the creator of TG Pro. He was a super nice guy and very helpful. He is working on an update now to fix a few issues. I will let you guys know when its done. But for now, back to SMC.

My following SMC settings are:
- Battery: 2500
- Plugged-in: 2900 - so its running at 2900 95% of the time.
- Charging: 3200

I do have 1 question about smc thou. since its almost always on "plugged-in" setting (2900), what happens when the mac starts to get hotter? does the normal OS settings start to take over like normal?
