Smudges, hot pixel, now no reception

Hi guys,

Bought iPhone 5 Wednesday

Out of the box - smudges, dot's on back

Next day - hot pixel

Yesterday / today - if I go in to area with bad reception and get 'no service', even if I go into area then with 3+ bars it doesn't get back in it. Just stays 'no service'.

Even If I'm in 5 bar area where three / four days ago I got 8mb/s + now I'm not even close to 1mb on download and upload...

Should I get appointment tomorrow?

I would. Maybe not for the smudges or dots, but the reception issues seem real and could net you a replacement unit that'll take care of the cosmetic issues.

If you go to the Apple store and you need to swap, they'll take care of reactivating. Just make sure you have a good backup to iTunes.

I could made scuffs myself, I could lie about hot pixel which you can't see now, I could lied about network. There's no way to check I think.

But of course I'm not.

Apple store is in full reception always, there's no way to loose it.

They have diagnostics they can run that will give them info about the reception. I don't know what a hot pixel is and if the cosmetic issues were truly there when you bought it, then there's no reason to think they won't believe you. They've certainly seen plenty of similar issues. And furthermore, if you bought it through the Apple store, there's a thirty day return policy for any reason. Just return it and buy a new one.
