I think the plot was weak outside of the "snakes on the plane" and even that was mediocre.

All the acting aside from Jackson was subpar. That line made me laugh.

I thought it was lacking in realism. I don't think snakes go through your eye socket and into your body. Maybe I am just missing something though.

It was definetely overhyped. I think it could have turned out alright. I know Jackson has spoken a few times about the change in vision. There was also some last minute footage shot, that apparently included the famous line "that's it..." you know the rest.

When I think about it, there wasn't really much to the film. Some bad guys put the snakes on the plane, snakes kill some people, people fight back, people win, guys get the girls, happy surf time.

That is the entire point -_-

Anyways the Globe gave it 3.5 stars today in the living section. Saying it is a cult hit

Now I haven't seen this yet, but I'm curious about the way people are describing its cheesiness.

Is anyone here old enough to remember the TV series Batman? Are we talking that kind of cheese?

no not that kind of cheese, no pow and zzwhap on the screen.

honestly this movie is just as bad/awesome/kickass as Cobra. I will keep referencing it till I find someone that has seen it :p

anyone been following this movie as its traveled thru the Internet?

anyone going to see it?

just the idea is absolutely ridiculous:rolleyes: :p

and the hype makes me kinda want to see it:eek:

I agree with you, even the local movie critic, gave it a reluctant two thumbs up for what it was. Seems to me this movie is like an accident on the side of the road, you just have to see what all the fuss is about, mind you, I think I'll wait untill it hits pay per view, or dvd first though :D

this movie is gory right? if its not, i don't wanna see it.

yes

Does this have the same quality as the 8 legged freaks movie? If so I'm done thinking about htis movie. quality i mean in acting, effects, and realism.......... like snakes would get passed the TSA anyway.

I went to see SoaP Friday night with some friends from work.

SoaP isn't Oscar material, but damn! It was the most fun I've had in a movie theater in ages!

I think the movie looks absolutely ridiculous.

Actually, on the way out of the movie theatre yesterday there was a snake just hanging out (a colbra I was told?) and later we joked about it going to go watch the movie Snakes on a Plane (it was playing then, pretty ironic). But yeah, the movie looks stupid to me.

uh oh my fellow SOAP lovers, apparently the movie isn't living up to the interenet hype!!! We must up our proclamations of it's greatness to the masses! :)

I think most of the people who hyped the movie so much are the type to torrent it ;)

I won't be able to see it until it comes out on DVD as it's a plane ride to the nearest movie theater but you can bet with Samuel L. Jackson its going to be worth seeing, even if it is goofy.

Just saw it tonight and had a great time. It wasn't nearly as cheesy as I thought it was going to be...definitely worth seeing. It's not a great film, but it is an entertaining movie.

The theatre was virtually empty...maybe 40 people in there. I was really surprised at the light showing, even if it was showing on two or three screens.

I think they blew it with the R rating. I'm sure there were a lot of high school'ers that didn't bring a parent to get in even though they wanted to see it. My 16 year old and 15 of his friends all went with me on Saturday

Just saw it.

Best. Movie. Ever.

This flick makes Citizen Kane look like Waterworld.

It's gorier than I expected. But it's just as kickass as I expected.

The bit where the snake bit that guys penis off was funny.

The bit where Sam Jackson says "the line" was so obviously tacked on later that I laughed twice - once for the awesomeness of the line, and once for the crapness of the edit.

man i thought this movie was a joke when i first heard about it on vh1, they were acting so sarcastic about it, and really snakes on a plane, well i am not going to go see it
