I disagree. Snow Leopard does feel like a refinement. I get better performance and user experience with Snow Leopard than I did with 10.5.8. I just proved that to myself by running an old backup.

Do you have any experience testing something as massive an OS? The test lab and beta testers can only test so many configurations. At some point, you just have to release the OS and see what happens in the real world. You hope no major bugs show up but you know bugs we will show up that you never saw in testing.

Snow Leopard, for the vast majority of users, is just fine.

I hope you said all of this about Windows Vista, as well.

I get better performance in every way and better stability in every way. Which I also got with Vista over XP. So yes in that sense SL is Apple's Vista, it's fecking brilliant.

"my anecdotal evidence is more valid than your anecdotal evidence, because~"

Because Vista, pre-SP1, was a disaster of epic proportions! It was so bad that many companies refused to ever user Vista even after that got it working pretty well. Just about everyone had some major problem with it. Again, once SP1 came out, Vista was fine. Too little too late.....and the reason Windows 7 is not called Vista something even though it is Vista underneath.

It's amazing how little it takes to stir the pot. One claim of "something-:apple: is imperfect" invokes the same reaction as poking a stick into a hill of fire ants.

I'd check their posting history first. There isn't any reason to judge based on someone's registration date or post count either.

Wasn't.

Based on similar claims of 10.6.x dismal failure, similar threads, and this one where the OP started the fight and has not been seen since.

Search IDs tend to die after 5 minutes. I understand what you're trying to say. It's not just limited to a single user.

There isn't a requirement to stick around every minute on MacRumors. Though I tend not to start threads in general.

I didn't know the searches died. Hmm. This one is still valid, as of 30 seconds ago. But I'll bear that in mind.

And no, it's not applicable to only a single user. Never intimated it was. But it is applicable in this case.

There is, sadly, no listing of "troll" on the endangered species roster.

Strange. I think SL is overall a big improvement over leopard and therefore not Apple's Vista at all.

The only small thing that bugs me is that Quicktime-X doesn't have the pro features and settings yet like QT7 but until then i can use QT7 aside of QTX.

If SL was having the majority of users having major issues, it would have been all over the media as a laughing stock. Its not.

Hahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!

That was funny.

Snow Leopard is definitely not Apple's Vista. I love Snow Leopard way more than Leopard.

SL works when you do a clean install (no migrating/installing from TM either), you shouldn't have to, but in some cases you do.
Vista was rubbish when doing a clean install (I don't think you could upgrade from XP).
