wrldwzrd, I'm not too far from you (Medina county), and yup, we're getting whupped.

Wouldn't be so bad, except that last weekend -- the last shopping weekend before Christmas -- we had a huge blizzard that kept a lot of people at home...and now that we're down to the last few days before Christmas, we're getting it again.

Makes it tough for those of us who are trying to finish our gift shopping.

Wow, 3 to 6 inches of snow, 2 feet in some area's??? How can you deal with this??

I'm living in Seattle now, but 2 years ago in rochester we would get that much every day. 6 inches was a good day, it easily hit 2 feet at points. I think the totals for the year were WELL over 13 feet. Stop ur whining!

Oh yeah, PS, I'm taking an overnight into Midway tonight, I couldn't care less.

BEN
I lived in Syracuse for a number of years... we used to consider you Rochesterians wusses. 13 feet is about 7 feet shy of the Syracuse snow total the last winter I lived there. ;) When I moved from Syracuse to Rochester and lived there for two years, it was like I'd moved to Florida. :D

I don't care for freezing rain at all. Please be careful.

True that.

Freezing rain is incredibly dangerous. I'd be happy if temperatures stayed at around 40°F until sometime in the winter when they'd just plummet to 20°F and stay there until spring. I hate, hate, hate temperature fluctuations around the freezing point!

Uh-oh...

I'm getting freezing rain right now, changing over to rain...but it'll become snow again later today as the temperatures start to drop into the 20s. I predicted that this would happen, so I'm opting to take off from work today.

I wish it was 20°F right now. Unfortunately I should be seeing a high of -7°F with wind chills around -30°F.

Now it changed over to snow, finally - and it's going to stay snow the rest of the day. Here comes the big chill...

We got about 4 inches of snow last night amazingly - and now its blue skies. Tonight it goes down to -5 :D I'll get some pics and post them later.

D

no snow and no rain for me thank goodness,

but i do have a 22mph wind and takes the 7degree tempt down to a negative 10 or so, its going to suck driving into work today because of these winds

i wish us in New England were getting that amount of snow, i was hopeing the 3 inchs we got the other day would last over till christmas. Sadley though most of its gone now and the down pours were exspecting today will finish it off. damn new england weather, 4 degrees one day 50 2 days later blah :(

Anyone care to go for a swim?

After the sub-zero temps tonight, I'll take another pic - I'm thinking there won't be any open water tomorrow morning and a couple days with a high of 8 and we'll be skating this weekend :D

Wow, Mr. A, that place it beautiful! I wish we got snow like that, but we never will. Have fun ice skating, though. I bet it's a blast!

I am in South Central Indiana and we have been nailed by snow. I live out in the woods so it is actually very beautiful.....no nasty slushy side roads from all of the streets. Very little traffic too, so getting places is a snap in my Rodeo. I think we're supposed to get quite a bit more snow today too.

beautiful picture Mr. A, i hope you get the chance to go skating, its wonderful fun, i might just have to go down to State St. on a free day and enjoy some skating myself

Good 'ol Goose Lake. Doesnt make me miss Indiana at all! ;D

Sorry, but after living in Indiana for 25 years and dealing with that crap, Ill take my view of the Bay any day!

ha, the thing is I love this stuff - i've been to Alaska in winter, Greenland and I grew up in Connecticut (some of my favorite memories are of winter fun)- so the skating is going to be great - I have to go out and get some skates, though....

I like the seasons, I like watching it all change and appreciate each season for what it is. I don't know if I could live somewhere that didn't have seasons....

So how's everything going out west?

My brother lives in Middletown, Ohio just 20 miles South of Dayton. Sounds like he just may have a White Christmas.

We had about 2" of snow Monday. Then on Tuesday it was cold, the low was 5 and the high of 32. Today we are back above normal at 42, normal of 40. So it sounds like rain for us. :(

Here in Dayton we got buried last night. Work was closed today and pretty much everything is shut down... too cold to make snow men we're just chilling out. It's really nice, no work and plenty of hot chocolate!

I took the new TSX out yesterday in the snow, it handled pretty well - I got around without much problem but when I got home.. it was time for the Grand Cherokee.

Nice picture Mr. Anderson, enjoy. I think that your storm from the Midwest is here in Boston now. We are on the warm side of the storm. The current 8pm T is 58. They are predicting it to be in the 30's tomorrow. Our only possibility is some snow flurries on Christmas Day.

I also love the change in seasons. Although it was much more dramatic in Nebraska.

The clouds came...

The wind began to blow...

It snowed...

And snowed...

I shoveled...

I'm tired.

Yep - the worst of it has passed me now. It's affecting places east, like Boston - as you say.

as i mentioned earlier i dont have any snow to complain about

but its only 3 degrees F here, with a wind chill or -14, and we have some 14mph winds still, really suxs, it hurts just to step outside

Vancouver, BC is getting no snow right now. I really miss it :( We haven't had a white christmas in a very long time.

SNOW where are you :(
Bye-bye snowstorm... It's cleared the East Coast now and is on its way out to sea.

Try living in a tent for a couple of weeks in Kansas during the middle of winter. :D

The ground is so very hard and the wind always seems to blow which makes it seem worse.

Although, I must admin, Korea felt colder. In fact we had to manually rotate the main rotors a few times before starting the helos to prevent the seals from popping and the bearings from feezing.

Oh, and you never get completely warm.

Fun times!

BTW, love the pic Mr. A. Reminds me of home.

The experiences that you have described in Kansas and Korea, are they by any chance connected with the military. Definitely a life of bare necessities. If so thank you for your service. My only experience similar was during survival training during flight school for nurses.
