Do you have an iPad? I’m in this same boat and can’t decide between the pro or mini.
Really like the camera and RAM of the pro but it’sa little too large and heavy.
Form factor of the mini is awesome but miss the camera a little.
I do have a 2018 11 inch iPad Pro. As far as ram I do notice it - especially after using the camera apps tend to refresh on the mini, whereas the pro keeps them in background more.

Love 12 Mini but battery life is meh
I cant believe that, 2020 and battery life is still average
Its only minor downside but i can live with that but definitely not last over 1 day of use (maybe two for very light use)
I am actually biased and a bit jealous of iPhone 11 Pro / 12 / Pro / Max they all have way better battery life :/

Chrome (i like more Chrome than Safari), Whatsapps (social networks), shop (Amazon, Aliexpress, Ebay, because of Xmas^^)
Taking photos, sending messages, phone calls and so on... its fresh new 12 Mini, maybe its still indexing in background, i will see if next days, battery life could improve

And are bigger and heavier.

I love my blue 128 GB mini! The size is great, the screen is a missive improvement from my 8 I was using before, and it looks so good with the saddle brown apple case. Now for it to just build up that beautiful leather patina.

Yup, average for 2015, but with much smaller physical battery. Actually, much better battery life than my 6S (I didn't get a day of use) and a much better processor and screen. When the big phones have 3 day life, you will be complaining that you struggle to get 2 days! For the first time since my first cell phone, I don't plug in overnight.

I had a Xperia Z3 Compact at this time just before getting the SE, a bit larger and taller than SE but very respectable compact size (almost same screen size as iPhone 6S), i could get 3/4 days of use, thanks to Sony to put 2600/2700 mAh and Stamina mode (it doesnt drain at idle, 1% per night), it was thick (8.6mm)
If i was Tim Cook, i would make 12 Mini sightly thicker and heavier and then a bigger battery to match 12/Pro battery life
You may sacrifice design/weight but it wont be too noticeable imo
Otherwise i am really happy with 12 Mini, it looks superb and size is perfect
I wouldnt trade size for battery life tho!

Wish it was smaller, but unfortunately that's not really an option.
Coming from SE, i dont think its small by any means but its neither too small nor too big
Being smaller would mean sacrificing battery life even more which honestly could hurt many users

Satisfied completely. Love the mini.

If you’re a heavy user, on your phone a lot- not for you.

If you’re a light user- perfect for you.

End of story.

Keeping your battery around 50%-80% will be best for long term battery life. Letting it drop to under 20% or full cycles are not good for long term battery life. If you are going to drop under 50%, put it on a charge for 10-15 mins (Qi wireless charger for me) to get back up to 80% the go about your day. I charge to 100% every night, but try to keep battery between 50-80% during the day. I’m a light user so I toss it on a wireless charger late afternoon/early evening. But I’ve been using it more lately since it’s a new (1 month) toy. I will probably not need to charge at all during the day once the newness wears off.

To each their own, just tossing in my 5 cents.

Love it. Almost perfect. all I want is to trade this useless ultra wide lens for a telephoto and I’d be 100% happy.

battery life is great. Best battery life I’ve ever had in an iPhone, by a lot (came from a 4.7” iPhone 7). I don’t consider myself a light user but finish the day with between 25 and 35% left (no charging during the day).

Love it too. Definitely a keeper.
Battery life has been good for me, easily reach a full day with moderate usage. More than satisfy over my mediocre iPhone 6 previously. And charging speed is very fast for me. 50% top up in 30 minutes using 18 watt charger.
And yes I try to keep 25% to 80% battery too, so occasional top up charging is better than a full cycle.
Considering a magsafe puck for this purpose. Seems convenient.

One thing I wish would be better is the speakers quality. No bass at all. Very flat speaker output.

I’ve also enjoyed several of Sony’s Xperia lines of phones. Still, sorry, but iOS is just that much better, IMO :)

I think it depends where you come from

I see a lot of 4,7" users who love it. I love it too, but having had XR > 11 > 12 mini I have gotten used to watching film clips from Youtube etc.. and browsing documents ++ on my phone. 12 mini feels a bit small compared to the big ones, naturally. Youtube-clips with wide-shot images and black bars at the top and bottom look tiny in the center.

To each their own, dude. Coming from an X(S) I don’t feel that the smaller size makes it any less of a kick ass phone, quite the opposite, and the specs are superb.

Precisely, the 12 mini is superb, spec, build and use-wise - my point was; Your experience will vary whether you trade up from a smaller display or throw out your "big phone" in exchange for this smaller one. People who have used big displays for years will have to adjust/change their usage.

Sure, dude, it’s always about sacrifice. For me personally the X was already approaching perfection, but it was a bit too big for one handed use - hence the Mini. Personally, I think it’s the best phone for the value right now, but that’s just my humble opinion of course :)

Going back and forth between 11 pro and mini
Heavy user here, both phones I have to recharge by late afternoon
Charging is so fast on these devices nowadays so I guess Mini is fine if battery is your concern

Indeed, iOS is much better and improved step by step, its impressive, Cook made really good job, its much more flexible with widget, files, pip...
During Jobs Era, iOS was somehow ''rigid''
