I've got the Mini 3. I bought it last weekend. I chose it because I wanted 64GB of memory instead of 32GB. I'd been there trading in other devices so I used the gift cards to get about $300 off. Personally, I'm starting to like touch ID.

I have the rMini and don't plan to upgrade, but if I was getting a Mini for the first time I would get the Mini 3. I really like touch ID. I think you'll be very happy with the Mini 3.

Agree. I love my Mini 2 and have been using it constantly since I was able to get my hands on it after release. I too upgraded from an iPad 3, so if I was doing that now, I would get the Mini 3. But as pointed out by others, I would also look at a refurbished Mini 2 so I could get 64GB or 128GB versions. I don't care as much about Touch ID and the NFC element for Apple Pay isn't attractive enough to pay the premium.

All of that said, the Air 2 is the iPad that has features that will be handy down the road: 2GB RAM, WiFi ac, anti-glare screen. If the Mini 3 has those same features, then it would be a clear decision.

I do get why people bash the iPad Mini3, but still think it's an amazing device.
The only reason I'm considering it, is that my iPad3 is way too bulky for my taste when on the move. Dont need the bigger screen, just need to be able to acces documents on the go.

I'f we had a refurb store in Denmark, I would be all over a 64gb Mini2, only because the price seems to be awesome. Sadly I dont have that opportunity.

I just upgraded my original Mini to the Mini 2 when the price dropped to $299. I didn't see the benefit of paying the extra $100 for the Mini 3 but I can see why some people would.

If you really want Touch ID and the gold color, then $100 isn't a terrible deal for those things. I upgraded from the iPhone 5 to the 5S just because I wanted Touch ID.

If I were you OP, I would've gotten a refurbished 128gb iPad mini 2 from apple's website for $439. It has double the storage, same internals, same dimensions, and it's $60 cheaper.

It seems as if there is a lot of hate and negativity towards the Mini 3, am I the only one here who has one? I picked one up earlier today as I had an iPad 3 and wanted Touch ID, a gold iPad, a larger size (32GB up to 64GB), AirPlay and Apple Pay.

I think it's great so far. My iPad 3, although it served me very well and would recommend if someone was thinking of getting it, I felt I needed an upgrade to a mini. So far, I'm really pleased with it and was wondering whether anyone else has one?

I do understand the main frustration was that there wasn't much difference from a Mini 2 to Mini 3 but I think in my case (iPad 3 to Mini 3), it was a pretty decent upgrade if you're like me and wanted a smaller screen. I found my iPad 3 very heavy and hard to hold which is what prompted me to get a Mini over an Air.

Thoughts?

The negative vibes are from the lack of possible upgrades. That will pass. Since I have a retina Mini, I'm skipping this upgrade, bud I'd you didn't already own one, yes, it's a terrific device.. I was mad at first myself, but have calmed down since the the rolease date.
Go for it..... :)

I agree. The retina Mini (both) are very impressive devices. The Mini 2 just looks like a much better deal right now. :apple:

went for a 2

Picked up a retina 2 today. Wanted grey and 16gb. Don't care at all about Touch ID on an iPad. 2 is a bargain at the moment!
