As other people have said, we have no reason to believe it will be the forteenth, we just like Tuesdays for some reason and we're really hopeful.
All I want is a MacBook upgrade and maybe a refresh on the mini.

So Apple having 15 BILLION CASH money in the bank is not enough to pull off such a venture , hmmmm
Just laptops is right but they are the only ones that can legally run OSXand for some of it is important to time our purchases just right to avoid losing a whole heap of money buying the current models when a refreah is just around the corner.

Not true.
Apple let another company called Axiotron use the OS X software to make an "official" Mac tablet called the Modbook.

No, they probably couldn't pull of such a venture with "15 BILLION CASH in the bank". And Apple certainly couldn't make the necessary investment without warning investors - and the recent reduced margins statement certainly wouldn't cover it.

You don't 'lose' money if you buy a computer just before a refresh - it's just that you could have bought a better one if you'd waited. All you can do is wait until the refresh actually happens - it'll have to be fairly soon because otherwise sales will start to slip. However, the 14th has only ever been speculation dressed up as fact. I'd have thought the obvious thing to do is wait until next Tuesday and then, if nothing is released, buy whatever you need now. It really won't be the end of the world because whatever is eventually released is unlikely to be that revolutionary anyway.

Yeah - MacRumors. Not MacSpeculation or MacWhinge or MacMisunderstanding or MacJumpingToConclusions.

I beg to differ , a company which has done what Apple has done , heck a company that hasn't could probably pull off a new manufacturing process with XX billion in the bank , sheesh , I could do that .

This supposed new process could well be the reason for the predicted drop in margins , I really don't see why that "wouldn't cover it " , it seems fairly simple & straight forward to me that a new factory set up will affect the profit margin, it has done with most company's that take this step.

Of course you lose money if a new version comes out shortly after buying a current model , the value drops because it isn't the latest current model , common sense to me .

Me thinks a revolutionary machine is about to drop out of Cupertino very soon , even Apple themselves have mentioned it (I read about this on this very forum)
I think MacRumors is a good enough name as it covers all the speculation , whinging , misunderstandings and pure speculation ....it would be a lot slower on here if it was only rumours that where discussed ;)

yeah , ok there is the Modbook but it is more of a bespoke option , hardly many businesses or every day folk will be buying those as nice as they are the price tag kind of puts pay to that for me and the budget we have for new purchases.

Heres the Deal

Apple will announce the new MacBook and MacBook Pros on Tuesday October 14th with purchasing/shipping to be begin December 9th....You heard it here first folks !!!! :apple::apple::apple:
