You know (as my wife constantly reminds me as she walks away laughing), my decision to postpone my late 2009 MP purchase because i assumed a tech refresh was just around the corner is looking dumber and dumber...:D

Well, once the Mac Pro does get refreshed (hopefully sometime this month or next month at the longest), that will show her~!

+1. Exactly in the same boat. Nearly bought the exact same model, same price, entry-level Mac Pro computer last summer as what is currently gathering cobwebs on the Apple website right now. What will make you even more angry is when you look at the ridiculously high prices being paid for dusty, 3+ year-old used ones online. Because Apple's prices arent coming down, its overinflating the used market as well. Leaving us no option.

I'd say from the deafening silence and lack of any legit rumors whatsoever, we're definitely in for the long haul. If only the Pentagon were so good at sealing off rumors......

Like SJ said, "just wait". He might as well be saying "just hold your breath"

OK, we're waiting.............

If I hear another person online howling about the lack of availablility of a WHITE iphone, I'm gonna vomit. :D

I honestly wish this site would split in two. Either make an irumors.com and move all the iCrap there or give us real "Mac" users a macprorumors.com or something.

Couldn't agree more. All Mac news sites have become a joke. Not their fault really, it is Apple's stupidity in neglecting its solid computing base. They will pay the price eventually.

I am slowly resigning myself to go Windows, no future on the Mac from the looks of it.

It's sad what we've come to!

LOL, I came on to post about the UK shipping times too. I want it to mean something but they went to 2 days a few weeks back and nothing happened. Are they just snowed under with iPhone orders, or do they ship from elsewhere?

Another Tuesday, another nothing on a new Mac Pro.

Might as well just keep this thread going – "this Tuesday" now pointing to June 29. And then July 6. And so on and on and on.

Perhaps you people should either move to another website, or remember that the 'iCrap' is what saved Apple from bankruptcy so real "Mac" users like you were able to buy a Mac computer in the first place.
Are there any posts in here on the iPhone etc? No.

hmmm the UK store's shipping dates for both Mac Pro models has slipped to 2 business days?

Same thing happened when they started shipping the ipads. It's not just the MPS that have gone to 2 days - pretty much everything major in the UK store is 2 days or more.

Add me as well. I went and looked at machine in November, and figured an update was coming in two months, yeah it's been 8 months now. I'm even getting to the point where I might just update my windows machine.

Pretty good point here. I think people like myself just wish they were attacking both fronts with the same fervor. :) I believe it could be done, I don't think one has to exist at the expense of the other. But as I've stated many times iGadgets can't exist without OSX based computers, so ... they can't go away. They just need a little more care right now.

i am going to be guessing next week or the one after that. Kind of like they did with the laptops after the ipad launch. Then a week after that, I am guessing they'll announce the ipad os update and when that will be available.

Apple had a lot of control when it came to news during the ipad launch. It seems like a good idea to do it again with the iphone4 launch. Keep people talking about apple.

once that's over, a new wave of updates to get ready for the school season. (ipods, laptops, etc) as well as the ipad OS update being released, etc.

I basically created this thread for people that are eagerly waiting for the mac pro to blow off some steam in~ :)

As well as discussing any rumors (even from the inquirer). Thats how desperate we are...

Actually, I happened to run across "news" that the Intel Sandy Bridge processors would be available Q4 of 2010. If we believe this means the middle of Q4 (reasonable) and that Apple can get their hands on the chips a month or two in advance (there's precedence for this) we could be looking at an update as early as September. Had Apple not taken so long to update the Mac Pro line, I think a lot of people would be pegging September (or maybe November) for an update. As much as I'd like to upgrade my Dual G5, at this point I don't feel bad waiting a few extra months if it means skipping Gulftown all together.

Xeon processors using Sandy Bridge won't be available until the second half of 2011.

They won't go away, you just need to remember that the operations and logistics teams at Apple have so far this year dealt with the new Macbook Pro's, the new Macbook, new Mac Mini, New iPhone and the brand new product iPad!!
So I would guess they have been pretty busy trying to get that lot built properly and to stores and customers, and I guess they will also deal with the new Mac Pro's which if they are going to make a big change to the design then I guess they will fly of the shelfs too so they will want to be prepared, I have a hunch they will change the case too this time, but I thought they would have the last update as well haha

Between July and September you WILL see the new Mac Pro, because in September will be the iPod refresh then the run up to Christmas and I guess in their will be iMac updates and maybe Macbook Pro updates again too.

Mid April: new MacBook Pro
Mid May: new MacBook
Mid June: new Mac Mini
Mid July: new Mac Pro?
Mid August: new MacBook Air?
Mid September: new iMac?

complete speculation

I would be thrilled if this turns out to be the new release schedule for the rest of the year. :)

I like the schedule...except I was hoping to get an imac during the back to school season :/
