Why does everyone assume that there is going to be special pricing for the iPhone? It is a highly sought after device, yes. However, the network isn't offering any advanced services for the iPhone that other phones get is it? Perhaps Visual VoiceMail, that might require hardware in the Verizon network to support. That Verizon has a service offering for already, it is a few bucks a month. Heck, the phones use less bandwidth than Android phones. I will be very disappointed if there are different plans for the iPhone specifically.

Just because AT&T did it, doesn't make it right to be done. Heck, the world needs to quit expecting such a thing as well.

If that were the case and the data rates were going to stay the same I don't think it would say this on their website under faq's.
Pricing

1.

Are there minimum service and data pricing requirements?

Yes, iPhone customers will need to choose from any of the current Nationwide plans. Customers will also be required to activate a data package, pricing will be announced at a later date.

So either all their data plans are going to change or the Iphone is going to have one that is different from all their other phones. If it was going to be the same, that comment would not be in there.

Hasn't worked out so well with Apple for releasing

Multitasking
Capacity bumps
Spell check
Copy & Paste
Video recording
Folders
Search
Pretty much any improvement that's come to the phone

People are whiny, needy animals who can do everything by themselves until they need someone, especially when they feel like those big bad corporations owe them something.

1) A White Verizon iPhone 4

2) The right to purchase the iPhone 5 if it comes out 5 months after they get their iPhone 4.

There will always be something to complain about...whether it's AT&T or Verizon, or Apple.

And I fear these forums would explode from shock if everyone stopped finding things to complain about. :D

And they will have that right...they just won't like how much they'll have to pay for it.

I think that all the Apple fans keep forgetting that they are dealing with Apple.... a company who is not afraid to flip their customers the bird because their customers are usually on some kind of Mac-induced iTrip.

Sure, the HOPE was that Apple would release the iPhone on Verizon and spread some of their record profits around.... maybe decrease the price of the phone, or offer early adopters some kind of discounted upgrade or incentive to help the push the phone and off-set the higher prices on Verizon.

WRONG. This is APPLE you are talking about. They will charge you the same arm-and-leg for the device and sneer at any early adopters that even hint at deferential treatment. They tolerate your adoration, but what they really want is your wallet.

Do you love Apple? Well then you gots to pay to play, baby! Uncle Steve needs some more turtlenecks!

right...unlike all those Android and Windows PC manufacturers that are in it out of the goodness of their heart. And "spread some of their record profits around..." What does that even mean? They have spread those profits around...to their investors. I don't remember anyone screaming about Nintendo not spreading their profits around after they've been making money hand over fist with the Wii and DS lines. Hell, the Wii even prints money and what's happened? I can see complaining that Verizon doesn't have the iPhone...or that Verizon has high prices...or that smartphones in general are expensive. Even Apple having expensive products would make sense. But to complain that a company makes too much money and should give it back to the consumers because the new cell carrier they've signed with ALSO charges too much money....well, you should get off your soapbox and find a new phone, because, honestly, no one here is going to feel back because you can't afford a smartphone. Or that anyone can't afford a smartphone. Jesus, when I was growing up we had a hard time affording food and you're complaining about pricing on luxury items?

TL;DR

Do you love ______? Well then you gots to pay to play, baby!

Verizon
Android phones
McDonalds
Microsoft
American Airlines
Dell
Sony
RIM
Ford
Nintendo
Energizer

Too many idiots are complaining about Verizon iphone in this forum. What is your problem?

Complain 1: Verizon is getting CDMA iphone, WHY? WHY NOT LTE?
A: Apple said, this phone is for early buyers who are refusing to use it on AT&T network. According to your nerds, Verizon has the best network. They gave you CDMA because LTE isn't ready yet.

Complain 2: Verizon iphone full price costs more! It's 649.99 dollars? WHY?
A: First of all, if you are willing to pay full price for the phone, then why does 50 dollars extra make that much difference? If 50 dollars is killing you, then you should wait until you are eligible for an upgrade. Apple and Verizon knows it will sell no matter what. So, enjoy.

Complain 3: Verizon just killed 2 years program. BLAH BLAH

A: So what? They want to make the money from you because they probably paid apple money to bring this phone. For the past few years, everyone was crying for Veizon iphone. They said they would not ask for anything more as long iphone is available on Verizon, so there you go. You all claim VZ has the best network. It's time for you to pay for your privilege. Nothing is free. Pay up your debt to Verizon and enjoy your CDMA network.

Complain 4: I want iphone on T-mobile and Sprint

A: Too bad. You don't have enough users in your carrier and doesn't look like apple will be bringing anytime so soon.

You all whine too much. If you don't like iphone, buy something else. If you are not eligible, then pay up the costs and stop whining.

OP is so right.

When I read through these and other forms I see

"AT&T, Apple, Verison, xxxxxx, won't do exactly what I want them to do that benefits ME" "therefore they don't care about their customers only profits"

How about that, a company that cares about profits. A capitalistic firm is in business to maximize profits for their shareholders. They do so by offerring a product at a price that will maixmize these profits. If you don't like this there are so many other choices.

Also this

"It's a personal decision, of course, but research supports spending money on experiences rather than material possessions. Not only do going places and seeing things lead to more happiness, but experience-oriented people are better liked by others than those who are materialistic, a 2010 study found.
And that's partly because once we buy something, we get used to having it around, and it no longer gives us the pleasure it did in the first few days following a purchase. An experience, on the other hand, can be enjoyed again and again when you remember it and tell others about it. Likewise, if you suddenly get a lot of money and spend it all at once, you might not get as much happiness as you would if you spread it out over time."

Well said!

The sense of entitlement these days is maddening. It truly makes me crazy.
