I did over 20 corrections on POIs around my house on the day after iOS6 came out.

Nothing has changed.

Maps in the UK is still just as unusable as ever.

Roll on the Google Maps app, otherwise I'll need a Spamdroid phone.

Why is iOS Maps obsessed with restaurants and bars

Why is 'maps' obsessed with restaurants in London UK
Where are the theatres art galleries museums etc?

Poi's when reported seem to be added in 12-48 hours.

No, they don't...

First day on IOS6, I did three "reference" fixes:
I asked them to change the name of a railway station that's been renamed in 1983 - nothing has happened yet.
I asked them to move a restaurant to the right location - apart from renaming it 4 times (wrong all 4 times) nothing have happened yet.
I asked them to add the missing regional hospital built in 1988 - nothing has happened yet.

I noticed more detail when zoomed in all the way. My neighborhood used to look like a ghost town, but now there are little shapes for each individual house in our track. The shapes are pretty accurate too.

As I pointed out earlier in the thread, Google, Bing, Waze, and others generally make changes to their maps within 2 weeks (often less).

Why is it unreasonable to expect Apple to work in the same time frame?

I've been waiting 17 months for Bing to correct my street name. I've reported it 3 times. Is there a trick to getting them to update in 2 weeks or less?

I was impressed that Siri pronounces my street name correctly. I'm hoping it gives the people that live ON my street the nudge they need to also pronounce it correctly (they pronounce it like Bing spells it). LOL

Hah...same for me...all French names and Siri nails them. Neighbors? Not so much.

I reported old imagry in my neighborhood, a new area that is still being built up. To days later it was updated (although the imagry is still about 20 months old and doesn't show my house, just the foundation being built).

I've sent numerous, some not updated, some updated the name but they kept the wrong location. lol

Same here. Waiting on about 15-20 corrections I've done for my hometown (Recife, Brazil) on the day of iOS 6 launch to be accepted. Nothing so far... This is disappointing.

I bet that there are a bunch of people contributing to make Maps better in a lot of locations and Apple isn't using those corrections because they don't have "people of their own" to verify those corrections. As a result, those locations get stuck with bad information while the common locations, like SF or NY, improve and people in the US end up thinking Maps is wonderful!

Take this guy, for instance: https://twitter.com/mantia/status/257493590157168640
He used to work for Apple and lives in California. He thinks Maps is great because he hasn't found huge errors. Of course! SF/California is Apple's backyard!

On the other hand, Maps is downright unusable in my hometown because its POI data looks like it's from 10 years ago (seriously), not to mention that half of those POI that are correct are located on the wrong side of the street. Been reporting these since iOS 6 came out... nothing still.

Yep..USA is VERY lucky....I'm benefiting from it and have little to no complaints so far.

Not sure why UK is as bad as it is though from an Maps standpoint, but I expect the next major improvements seen will take place there.

The rest of the world? Probably a much slower pace.

Improving ?

I see some improvements. Battersea bridge is no longer so wobbly. Tottenham Court Road tube and Leeds railway station have appeared at last.
Anyone got anything else in the UK?

Apple Maps has worked very well for me in both North & South Carolina. It has been better than Navigon and at least as good as Google Maps. Hopefully they are correcting some of the problem areas.

Map "Report A Problem" Not Fixed

Has anyone had any luck with their "Report a Problem" under Maps being fixed? My home address has been wrong since the day I got the iPhone 5. I continuously report it as a problem.

I have selected Information is incorrect and pin is at incorrect location. Yet it is still wrong. So just wondering if anyone else has had any luck with it?
