ok, so Apple just made a HUGE revamp for Leopard with this last beta...why can't that happen again?

Most people on macrumors dont seem too terribly thrilled with the Metal color versus the lighter Aqua found more commonly on Tiger. Who knows, maybe Apple will switch is last minute, just like thy did their background. ;)

As Mac OS X matures, I think we are going to see less and less underlying changes and just more features. Eventually, Apple is going to have to come up with something else besides integrating "ideas" for the most part derived from third-party applications (Application Switcher, Dashboard, Sherlock, etc).

Seems to me that most of the changes in Leopard are "under the hood".
 
Most changes that Leopard will offer will be under the hood. I personally wait for OBJC 2.0 and CoreAnimation.
