For those that just cant wait!!!

I was reading some people dont have access to Windows. Those waiting for a Mac version if you really want to get this going why not run bootcamp then get a trial version of Windows 7 for free right here.

http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/evalcenter/cc442495.aspx

This is a 100% legit trial from Microsoft's website you dont even need to worry about bootleg software.

Just scroll to the bottom and grab the Windows 7 trial you only need a free technet account just click then sign up and goooo.

Once you are done boot back into Mac and remove the Windows bootcamp partition. Thats it no more waiting!!!

Ugh can't somebody make a Mac version already? Creating partitions, installing an entirely new OS, setting up Bootcamp/parallels/whatever... no thanks.

HEHE you sound like my wife!!!

She works as an I.T. Tech and I do it all as a hobby :D

Yes my way via Bootcamp suggestion would probably be only for those hobbyists out there that just cant wait but want a legit avenue for free ;)

Yeah, I'm also not fired up about jumping in thru Windows. I have Parallels 6 set up, but only use it for a damn Win-only VPN app my company bought. Don't look forward to installing iTunes in my virtual machine, doing some trickery with Win and crossing my fingers.

Then again, if the MacLime ain't ready by next weekend...;)

I tried with Parallels 6 and Windows XP. Latest version of iTunes installed... it looked like it was complete (found iPhone, restarted, etc) but nothing changed. No icons, even restarted, etc.

I have a new refurb iPhone 3GS running 4.1

I don't think it will work on emulation software, if remember correctly form the several months ago the exploit use the physical layer of the USB serial, so emulated drivers won't work, need to hard direct hardware access between the OS and the USB port.

FYI, I successfully jailbroke my iPod Touch 4g yesterday through Parallels on a MacBook. I kept getting the "waiting for device" message until I right-clicked on the limera1n.exe file and chose "Run as Administrator." That seemed to do the trick.

I also installed iTunes in the Windows partition just in case that was needed, so I'm not sure what made the ultimate difference. In any case, it wouldn't hurt to try running limera1n as an Administrator.

Heres some ideas for all of you guys who are dying to use limera1n or greenpois0n:

1)Buy a netbook /any really cheap machine that runs windows from best buy.
Download iTunes, limera1n, jailbreak it, then return it the machine the next day.

2)Don't want to spend money? Well, you can still go to best buy for this next one.
Find a windows machine that already had iTunes installed. I think this shouldn't be too hard but I don't know. Once you've done that, download limera1n and get to jailbreakin'!

You might need to put iTunes & limera1n on a thumbdrive. iTunes may not install if they have permissions set.

3)Ask a friend!

4)Befriend a windows user!

5)Ask someone on craigslist!/some social networking site

hope this helps!

Lemme guess, you use Installous, too.
